I choose this long-established hotel every time I go on a business trip. It is safe, reliable, and strategically located. It is convenient to eat and shop in the square. The dining and bar inside the hotel are great.

We stayed here for two nights in October as our base for the Chiefs game, and it turned out to be a great choice. The hotel has a lovely old-school charm — you can tell it’s been around a while, but that just adds to the character and atmosphere. Every member of staff we met was genuinely friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was a real highlight with plenty of choice and everything we tried was delicious. Our room was large, comfortable, and had great views overlooking the Plaza centre — a really nice touch. All in all, this is a warm, welcoming hotel with great service and a fantastic location. We’d happily stay again next time we’re in Kansas City.

Great location, serve and people. My IHG status was recognized and I was upgraded to the club level. Good food and drink. Great location across from Country Club Plaza. Great restaurants and shopping. Parking is $30 a night to self park. For the brand this was reasonable. Good size too. And great view from my balcony.

During our recent stay at the InterContinental Kansas City, we had the pleasure of enjoying desserts in the lounge with Don, the night concierge, and I cannot say enough about the experience. Don went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — his warm personality and genuine care for guests truly set him apart. The desserts themselves were nothing short of exceptional — beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. It’s rare to come across someone who not only provides impeccable service but also makes you feel genuinely valued as a guest. Don embodies the standard of hospitality that makes the InterContinental a standout destination in Kansas City. Highly recommend stopping by for dessert and letting Don take care of you — you’ll be glad you did! We won’t stay anywhere else on our annual visit to Kansas City and a lot of the reason is because of Don and his amazing hospitality.
