Location is great, right downtown where the action is. For the cost the room wasnt all that great. There was still a used soap in the shower when I arrived, bathroom area looked kinda dirty and worn out. I traveled with a friend who had a separate room and we checked in at the same time. They got a while rundown on what the hotel had for food beverage and such and I was kinda handed a key by my clerk and sent on my way. We booked the same room on the same floor, mine was lacking a fridge which was a bummer. The breakfast opened at 7, not 6 as stated in the email booking and the person at the desk kinda treated me like I was dumb for asking where it was located since I thought it was open. When it did open there was no one to seat you as the sign directs and the price was also different from the booking email. It was also tiered which is odd for a buffet. I decided to check out early instead of eating there. It just wasn't a great overall experience.

Not a lot of amenities in the hotel but it is nicely decorated and looks romantic. Bed was super comfortable and water presser hit the spot. What it lacked in amenities in made up for in location. Your neighbor is KC live and everything in the power light district so know need to drive

This is a very good location for downtown K.C. The hotel lobby very nice. We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and the food and service were very good. The only complaint here was that the attached bar was very loud and the restaurant ambiance could be redesigned to be more comfortable and intimate. There was a group of about eight people at a large table near us that were having load discussion that was distracting for us but dealt with it. The room was small but the renovation was very nice, bathroom was big with a nice tub/shower that my wife enjoyed a epsom salt soak. My only complaints are that there is no fridge or microwave to heat coffee. Also, they use the old style coffee two cup coffee maker as most hotels have now gone to keurigs. The hallway noise is very noticeable and the room-to-room noise is as well. We could literally hear the conversation in the next room. One thing that I really dislike is the lack of a "do not disturb" card for the door and as expected, the housekeeper was knocking on the door at 9:00 a.m. to clean the room even though checkout is at noon! I'm sure there are much better and newer hotels but if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay in the heart of downtown K.C. this is a good choice.

I have what I think is a serious gripe with the hotel's policies. Before I get to that, I'm going to speak about the positive: - The staff was extremely nice, courteous, and professional. - I was upgraded to a room, most likely because of my Hilton Honor status, and it was still a nice touch. - The room itself was very lovely. - The location was excellent, downtown Kansas City. - It's a beautiful hotel with 1920-style woodwork and a lovely bar. My main concern was that I had checked in for a pickleball tournament and was only staying one night. I asked the young lady at the desk if I could negotiate a later checkout, and she seemed unsure if that was something she could do or not. I waited until the morning, and I had to be at the tournament at 8:00 a.m. The lady at the desk, again very nice, said the best she could do was a 2:00 p.m. checkout. I said, "I don't know when the tournament is going to finish. Is there any way I could have a 3:00 p.m. checkout? I'm willing to pay $25-$50 for the extra hour." She didn't think that was possible. I said, "You know what, okay, fine. Hopefully the tournament ends by 2:00. It was clear to me as the day went on that I would not be finished by 2:00." I used the text feature with the hotel and was texting. Long story short, I was charged $150 to basically stay an extra hour. I realized they had me with no leverage because I had my luggage there and I really needed to take a shower before I left for the airport. Again, I offered to pay $25-$50 for an extra hour, and I was told that simply was not going to be allowed. Make up your own mind whether or not they were right..

This is a good place to stay. Check in and staff were good. The one-king bed room was clean, comfortable, roomy and quiet. You could tell some normal wear-and-tear in the room, but it was not a deal breaker. Parking is in the next building and a short walk. Several different restaurants are a short walk from the hotel.

We were placed in a room on the east side of the building on an upper floor. It felt as if we were a part of the concert at the Power & Light stage. If you need a restful night, I would recommend a room facing west! The staff and hotel itself were lovely. The ambiance feels like you are stepping back in time with tasteful current updates. Parking was easy in the hotel garage and check out was smooth and easy. Would stay here again.
