Hotel Westport Kansas City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Lady at check-in was very nice. The room was fairly good sized as I had a king sized bed. The shower was large and I liked that it was a walk-in shower. The towels were super heavy, not the thin rough type. Bed was super comfortable! The elevators made a lot of noise and I thought any second it was just going to quit! One problem was I asked for a quiet room. I was put on the 5th floor with my window facing the Main Street on a Friday night. So I heard all of the fast traffic, squealing tires, and sirens the majority of the night! Not much sleep to say the least! Another major issue is finding a parking place! I even had handicapped parking and it was a problem finding a spot! A major issue I encountered on my stay was morning interruptions! Never in all the years of traveling has this happened! At 8:15AM I have a pound at my door that woke me up! I remind you I had very LITTLE sleep! It was a hotel lady wanting to know what time I would be checking out? Are you kidding me? I told her checkout was noon, so expect it around that time! I went back to bed! Round 2! Around 11:15AM I’m in the shower and hear yet another pounding at my door! I holler and say I’m busy. Then I hear my door shut as if someone just came in my room! Really? So I get out of the shower butt naked dripping wet, open the door to see a man standing there looking at me (naked). I ask him if I can help him??? He said I’m sorry I had down this room was vacant! I said well I can assure you it’s NOT vacant! I explained a lady had just pounded on my door at 8:15AM and I told her I would be out at noon, which it clearly was NOT noon!!! Talk about irritating! I couldn’t sleep or shower in peace! Definitely need to improve communication here among other things!

This hotel is in the area near where I needed to be this weekend and it was clean. I will be staying again as I will need to return to the area. I did have a mishap in that housekeeping cleaned the room but didn't make the beds. I had to leave to get to my performance venue about an hour after checking in, so I went to tell the front desk. The receptionist was very accommodating in getting someone up to my room ASAP, and they were made when I later returned. Thanks! Also, I think one of the elevators isn't working, so you might have to wait a little longer. Had I stayed longer, I would have found the stairs.

Our entire stay was perfect. Great location. Extremely comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again and recommending to our friends and family.
