The staff has gone above and beyond for us! Our Japanese language skills are not great and they made sure to accommodate us. I also have an oddly restrictive diet and I was prepared to make-do. They did not accept that and the chef out did himself! Chikara hosted us and walked with us through the cultural norms and made our stay a delight. We are honored and delighted by how the staff cared for us. We had a private onsen in our room. It is worth it! The mix of modern amenities with traditional elements was the right fit for us. Gyokuhokan was exactly what we were looking for. Izu is so far, my favorite part of Japan.

すべてに満足できました！！ただ夕食時間が希望に添えなく遅くなってしまいましたが・・ 食事は魚、肉それぞれ3種類から選べます。感激です！庭もとても素敵です。是非また訪れたい宿でした。

温泉旅好きの友人に勧められて初めて宿泊しました。玄関前に源泉があり盛んに湯煙を上げていて温泉気分が初めから盛り上がります。露天風呂付き離れ和洋室に3人で泊まりましたがゆったりとした部屋で部屋の大きな露天風呂は最高。夕食は早めに17:30からスタート。料理長のセンスが良くてどの料理もとても美味しい。高齢者3人全員が完食。朝食も素晴らしい。スタッフの接客も問題なし。オススメの宿です。ただ一つ？がありました。3人で泊まり和室に蒲団を2つ引いてもらいましたが驚いたことに2200円の蒲団代を追加で取られました。長年レベルの高い宿に泊まってきましたが追加の蒲団代を取られたのは初めて。

湯量の豊かな源泉があるからか露天風呂が広々しています。 古い写真を見ると広い広い露天風呂が映っていたので伝統なのかなと思うのですが大浴場も洗い場は屋内ですが内風呂がなくて広い露天風呂というのが一か所。 もう一か所は内風呂がありましたが。 無料の貸切風呂も洗い場も外の露天風呂。 とても気持ちいいのですが洗い場が外というのは冬にはハードルが高かったです。 露天風呂から出られなくなってしまいました(笑) 浴場棟も外廊下を歩くので真冬はちょっとむかないかも。 食事はとても美味しかったです。目にも鮮やかでしたし。 苦手食材の対応も丁寧にして頂けました。 量は若い男性だと足りないのかなという感じでしたが私達は満腹になりました。 ノンアルコールもお勧めセットがあったのが今時らしいな、と。美味しかったです。 二階の部屋から見下ろせる日本庭園は夜が幻想的で素敵でした。 今度はもう少し暖かな季節に伺いたいと思います。
