Our 21st visit. Relaxing ocean breezes. Friendly staff. Food at the Marine Room is convenient and very tasty. But every year the prices go up and the portions get smaller. A lobster roll in Maine should be less expensive than New York City. The convenience of lunch at the pool is obvious but we felt there was little value this year unlike in prior years. Alarmingly the hotel is removing wallpaper from some rooms. The wallpaper is a massive part of the hotel’s charm and an attraction. Please reconsider sanitizing the decor. I pay $400 to $700 a night for charm, in addition to the location and the pool. I am not the only guest disappointed by the prospect of the wallpaper removal.

Emplacement paradisiaque ❤️ Nourriture de base. Chambre non climatisée. À l’image des années 40 Personnels très courtois. Nous reviendrons mais pas au mois de juillet et août dû au manque de l’air climatisé. Plage à deux pas de l’hôtel. Les animaux de compagnie sont acceptés. ❤️

The Colony Hotel isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience! Upon entering the lobby you have a breath taking view of the ocean. You are greeted like family and asked if you would like a glass of sparkling champagne, which you can relax and enjoy on the veranda. Once we went to our room, we were overcome of childhood memories of our grandmother’s homes. The lovely furnishings, flowered wallpaper, and gorgeous rugs, and of course the ocean view! Each morning there is a great breakfast, with something for everyone. When we started exploring the hotel, we found more and more hidden gems like, the game room/library, little areas to just sit and talk, the Marine Room for cocktails or something to eat. The Colony Hotel is by far the number 1 hotel I have ever stayed at! A special thanks to Fran Connelly, Cullen, E.T. and Steve for making our trip so memorable. Thank you, Bettyann Rembisz

Definitely a family run operation and run down with a lot of potential. Needs to be renovated and staffed properly, including accessibility throughout property. Not easy for wheel chairs or strollers, and parking lot is very strange and narrow. Beautiful views of you get the right room, be careful what you book, you could wind up in a different building with no views that’s a considerable walk away from amenities.

Room was very small, bathroom the size of a mini closet with no room for toiletries. No TV in room, outlets for chargers were under a desk or under a bed. I had to go on my knees to plug my iPad and phone.

Pros: Very beautiful old hotel. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Great location and beautiful grounds!
Cons: There was a wedding each night we were there and it took away from the hotel experience. Very antiquated.

This property has a great view of the sea, the pool is uniquely located seaside and a good size. The historical hotel may not have all the modern amenities of a newer abode but the charm definitely makes up for it!!

Our visit to the Colony was a daughter/mother trip. The hotel was idyllic and was perfect for our stay. The rooms, not large in size, were clean, the bed had very nice linens and was comfortable. There wasn’t a tv in the room-but not a big deal as Kennebunkport has plenty to fill your days and evenings. The pool was beautiful, although we didn’t get the chance to use it. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for making our stay perfect!
