Stayed here for 1 night before my husband did the Chase the Sun ride. Hotel was really in the ball with this and offered bike storage and tea/coffee/ pastries at 3am and also the option of a packed breakfast. Check-in was a breeze, room small but spotless and great walk-in shower (room 8). Decided to go for room service for lunch and dinner. Both times the food came promptly and was delicious. I had lovely salads and the burger was super. Big thumbs up for the triple cooked chips. We had time to hit the spa and it was great, good back massage from the spout in the hot tub. Loved the steam room. All very clean and organised. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Only tiny gripe was a lack of feather pillows. Staff were so helpful and cheerful so all in all a fab stay.

Linked to a visit to Canterbury, Hempstead House was wirthin easy reach.
We got shown the hotels facilities before being taken to our room by friendly reception staff.
The room was very clean and spacious, the pool was great although the sauna a little small, hydro pool very enjoyable.
We enjoyed the evening in the brasserie bar, the barmaid Anna was very good company and her local knowledge was very helpful.
We didn't eat in the evening however the breakfast was very good and plentiful, served by a lovely lady.
Overall a great stay and will definitely stay again.

Myself and my husband got married at Hempstead house five years ago and had gone back on each anniversary and used to be able to go about twice a year for the package price. The price has increased so so much since 2020, and we couldn’t afford to go for our anniversary last year, we came back this year knowing it’s costs around £200 to a few years back. The disappointment is that the massage is not worth £95. Me and my husband were disappointed for the first time after having our treatment. I work in the spa industry so know what to expect and know what experience we had previously received. The layout of the spa was also changed and made it not so relaxing as the cleaning started going on as we lay on the loungers post treatment, we felt like we had to leave and it shouldn’t have been changed from the separate room as it used to be. My husband and another guest had over cooked steak. Also especially disappointing given it’s a la carte dining, this should be a basic for a trained chef. We love the room we stay in but that is due to it being so personal to us so we know what we are getting. The staff at reception and dining are excellent. The breakfast seemed improved from previous stays which was very much enjoyed. We love coming here but as paying for a package there shouldn’t be extras to add on it should be included in the cost of the package as you aren’t saving a lot by buying a package.

We attended Goldilocks and the three bears ballet picnic. The ballet was excellent and suitable for my 3 year old grand daughter. As always staff are efficient and friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. The bathroom facilities are very clean as is the whole venue.

Five stars awarded as we had an excellent 2 night stay. Staff were very helpful, efficient, polite and cheerful. The gym, pool and changing areas were clean and well equipped. Food was to a good standard; breakfast freshly cooked to order with table service. A good selection of fruits and pastries. The hotel itself was immaculate. My only small ****** was that the mattress on our bed was too soft and not very supportive. Excellent location for an overnight en route to the Chunnel. We were also advised that dogs are welcomed in areas other than the restaurants which means we will return.

We stay once a year. We only live 30 mins away, but always stay as we discovered over 10 years ago now this little hidden gem. Very reasonable prices when you consider that you get bed, breakfast, and access to the spa on the day of arrival and the day you check out. Always great service too. Upon check out in Feb 2024, Tarryn on reception asked why we were checking out so early. It was that my wife had been very unwell so we’d be unable to use the spa this time. A week later Tarryn emailed to say they were so disappointed we couldn’t use the spa, that they offered us a free afternoon pass, which we used yesterday (June 2024.) That really is going above and beyond, great initiative and customer service, and we will be back next year for our 11th stay! Thank you Tarryn, Rhaea, Rachel and all of the the Hempstead team :)

The hotel is beautiful, clean, friendly and such a lovely atmosphere. The staff can’t do enough to help you and when passing in the corridor they stand to the side until we passed. Rooms are very inviting and all you need is in them. The facilities are very clean and will definitely be coming back for spa days there with friends. The food was amazing and a good variety. We had such a warm, friendly stay.
