気仙沼市街地のホテルの大半は港エリアにあるのですが、JR利用で利用するのは不便なため駅前にある当ホテルを利用しました。 ビジネスホテル的なものを想像していましたが、外観・接客等を含めて観光ホテルのような雰囲気がありました。 設備的にはやや古めかしい部分もありますが、利用する分には全く問題ありませんでした。 また宿泊プランに併用できる、朝食の和食膳もとりました。 連泊したのですが、内容は部分的に違ったところもあったので退屈せずに食べられました。 食堂は2階にありますので、窓からは気仙沼駅が展望できる良好な場所です。 問題点と言えば、気仙沼駅前は地味に街はずれです。 駅前にはコンビニ以外になく、夕食のために徒歩10分以上をかけて市役所方面、または幹線道路に出向く必要があります。 車があれば大した距離ではありませんが、徒歩だと意外に堪えます。(坂道があるので)
