Gilmore Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The Gilmore Hotel was one of our favorite stays during our week in Alaska! The staff was incredibly helpful and understanding. We were there to visit our kelp farmers; and when we told the staff, they were able to connect us with more people in the kelp farming world in the area! They also gave us a complimentary shuttle to the ferry terminal, and because it wasn't too busy, they let us check out slightly later. There was a fully stocked tea & coffee bar that made our stay extra homey! Antique but super clean feel. Will definitely be back.

An old hotel but beautifully decorated and updated in a great central position. Lovely welcome on arrival and couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. An excellent restaurant next door where we had a fabulous meal. I would certainly recommend the Gilmore, a memorable stay a long way from home.

The staff went out of their way to assist me for all my needs. During my travels, I had been to Anchorage and Denali before arriving in Ketchikan. They did not have laundry facilities for me to use but the housekeeping staff did my laundry for me so that I could continue on for the rest of my trip with fresh clothes. They facilitated my transport from the airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to the docks for the next leg of my journey - a small ship cruise. An added bonus, the on site restaurant had great food and service!

Great staff- great location

Stayed there to catch cruise ship. Our room was not at all what was pictured. Very small, no fridge, could hear everything in room next door and we woke up to a big leak in the ceiling that looked like it was about to drop. They did comp us for one night and our cruise ship docked right across the street that made it easy to get to. But taking that into consideration would have booked somewhere else.

The Gilmore Hotel is a landmark hotel which means it is old. If you are not prepared to accept this includes the use of stairs as no elevator is in the building, there is no central air and parking is on the street then looks elsewhere. Otherwise enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of this small, clean and cosey hotel. Call ahead and the front desk will advise you on parking or arrange for pick up at the airport.

Due to a change in our vacation we booked our stay last minute through the ******* app which I rarely ever do but due to poor cell service in the area and the fact that ******* said they had 6 rooms available I figured it would be safe and convenient to book through the app. . Long story short we showed up to check into our room and they had no rooms for us. My advice is don’t rely on the hotels communication with *******.The Gilmore did in fact have 6 rooms available but they were down for cleaning. Lesson learned Always call the hotel directly especially when booking last minute. We were fortunate there was another hotel that had a room available as we wouldn’t have had a place to stay for the night.
