Ich habe mir jetzt sehr viele Kommentare durchgelesen und kann nicht verstehen, wie man dieses Hotel auch nur ansatzweise mit weniger als 4 Sternen bewerten kann ! Das Hotel ist klasse ! Sowohl die einzelnen Apartments in den außenstehenden Häusern ( welches wir gegen ein Zimmer im Haus problemlos tauschen konnten) als auch die gesamte Anlage, das Hotel, einfach alles! Hier hat sie der Inhaber so große Mühe gegeben und ein wirklich tolles Konzept bzw. eine tolle Anlage, auf die Beine gestellt ! Das Personal im gesamten Haus ist unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend ! Das Frühstück hat alles was man braucht und ist durchgängig frisch und vielfältig ! Egal ob Wellnesbereich , Außenanlage oder Zimmer, alles ist sauber und modern , man fühlt sich sehr wohl ! Wir reisen sehr viel durch die Welt und dieses Hotel hat ein super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis! Ps. Bei der Grösse der Anlage, kann es schon mal vorkommen, dass man kurz warten muss oder der Frühstücksraum etwas voller ist, so etwas als „schlecht“ zu bewerten, ist für mich nicht nachvollziehbar! We were here with friends to spend a beautiful weekend in Potsdam. The hotel consists of several closely connected houses, the front of which is the old villa. Here is also the reception and breakfast room. A very well-cared small parking landscape is located around the houses with some possibilities to stay in peace. The reception was very friendly. The parking was very narrow but greatly organized. Our standard room was very small, clean and equipped with the most necessary. The location of the hotel is great. Foot is everything essential to reach easily in Potsdam. Small deductions would be seen at breakfast because the breads were only warmed (and that was bad) on Saturday. Even though the quality of breakfast is only in the standard of a three-star hotel. In general, the hotel is a absolute recommendation. We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back to the next Potsdam visit.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in late September, ‘22. Historic Potsdam is a very pleasant city that we wanted to explore more than a quick day trip from Berlin would allow. The Maxx was a very comfortable and convenient place to stay. It is an easy walk to Sanssouci Palace, longer to Neus Palace. It is near restaurants and shops (we liked the Alter Stadwacher restaurant), and has an attractive setting near the Brandenburg Gate square. There is a tram line just a block away. If you have a car, as we did, there is garage parking below the hotel. The Maxx is an efficiently managed modern hotel designed to offer maximum convenience and comfort for a reasonable price. The large lobby area has a welcoming bar and a restaurant where breakfast and other meals are served. We didn’t opt for the breakfast buffet, so we can’t evaluate it). The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Our room (317) was large, with modern stylish decor, a comfortable king bed, two night stands (1 with outlets), a desk, an armchair with floorlamp, and a large balcony with a mediocre view over adjacent buildings. The bedroom area was connected to the toilet room on one side and the bath/vanity on the other, with a closet and a minibar with coffee maker integrated into the hallway, an interesting design. The bathroom had a nice shower and adequate counter space, Wifi in the room was strong and fast. No a.c. and the heat is from a hot water radiator. We were somewhat cool the first night, but comfortable the second. All in all, the Maxx Sanssouci is a very comfortable and convenient place to stay for a few days in Potsdam and we recommend it.

Pet- and tourist-unfriendly place. My latest experience very much resembled extortion. I was charged 100 euro for dog’s fur on the bedsheets and 150 euro for dog’s fur on the floor (the hotel representative had to put quite an effort into scraping some with her shoe) and an approx 0,5 mm brown-ish spot on the carpet which they claimed to be “blood” (considering that there was an approx 5 cm black stain on the carpet as of my checkin which hotel apparently didn’t see as something of an issue to me as a guest). I used to like this hotel (despite being placed on several occasions in rooms with obvious sewage issues), until I stayed there with my dog. I presented my dog at the reception at the checkin (that is the receptionist saw the dog). Paid 15 eur per day pet fee and proceeded to the room. No additional rules, policies or verbal requests were presented to me. My dog damaged a pouffe which I informed the hotel about at the checkout and happily paid whatever was asked of me (200 eur). In addition to that I was demanded to pay 100 eur for some fur on bedsheets and 150 eur for some fur on the floor as mentioned above. No oficial price list was presented. No explanation why 15 eur a day pet fee wasn’t covering washing blankets and vacuuming floor was provided, all my questions or logical arguments were ignored. The team of hotel representatives generously offered me a 50 eur discount on cleaning (which I didn’t ask for) only confirming that the amounts weren’t based on any actual price list, because if the hotel really suffered a loss of 250 eur why would they “gift” me 50 eur. I considered it to be an extortion and suggested to call the police. When I came back after 15 min the hotel still hadn’t called the police. As I had an urgent matter and had to leave, I paid the hotel whatever its staff demanded. I think what actually happened is the hotel staff had accidentally or recklessly placed us in a no-pet room (as there was a carpet, unlike in some other rooms. I was placed into that room after finding out the one I was initially given smelt of sewage - repeatedly happened before). And instead of charging their staff, they’ve charged me, so that they can do (if they actually do) for some deep cleaning after an animal to make it suitable again for people with allergies. Staff’s rudeness and ill attitude with me as a client weren’t in line with the hospitality filed’s even moderate standards. Most customers might find this hotel pleasant - which it is, until it is no longer.
