Kona Kai, is a great resort for couples only. The staff goes above and beyond to make your experience the best. Katherine is the manager and is always asking you if you want her to make any reservations for you, and is always making suggestions f places to eat and activities to do,.We also stayed there April 2023 for the first time and when we were on our way to the airport I called Kathy and booked for this year. My husband and I said it was the most relaxing no stress vacation we had and we didn’t want it to end. We will definitely be booking for 2025 and returning to Kona Kai. The rooms are very clean and well maintned THE BEST VACATION EVER!!!!!!@

Hidden gem in Key Largo! We had an amazing stay and will definitely book again in the future. Catherine at the front desk goes above & beyond to communicate all property amenities and makes you feel welcome!! Property is beautiful and very well kept. Quiet, quaint and well-kept suites set this place apart from the rest! We stayed at the pineapple room and love it! Thank you for making our short stay a great one!!

Kona Kai is a beautiful, cozy lush resort. Kathryn, Dayna and Suzanne are helpful, knowledgeable and so friendly. I had the wonderful good fortune to spend 2 glorious peaceful days at this lovely Key Largo gem, and will most definitely return. Thank you lovely ladies for a brilliant stay.

My wife and I have been coming to the Kona Kai for years and we have always enjoyed our stay here. If you want to enjoy an Old Keys Florida experience, this is place you want to stay. The location on Florida Bay is second to none. The Kona Kai experience is for people looking to get away from it all. There aren’t any resort fees. No parking fees. No over the top big resort congestion you can experience at some of the other high end resorts. Just check in and relax. The staff was fantastic (like always) during our most recent stay. They respect the privacy of the guests but are available when needed. The rooms are secluded and charming. There are plenty of food and activities options near by. Close enough to the mainland for a quick get away yet far enough away to make you feel like you are in a different world. What amazes us to most is that even though we have been staying here for over 20 years nothing has changed. It’s just as quaint and quiet as it always has been. It’s like visiting an old friend. We are already planning our next trip to the Keys and the Kona Kai is where we will stay.

Beautiful place with very laid back and helpful staff. Nice to have a pool as most beaches in the keys are not great so bring water shoes as they are rocky. Manatees are often swimming past this resort. Having on site kayaks is also nice. Great sunset photos!

Such a beautiful property and great staff! Perfect for a nice relaxing vacation. Has the perfect view to watch the sunset on the pier! Resturants right across the street if you don’t feel like driving to dinner. I will always choose staying at Kona Kai when coming to Key Largo!

As you enter the reception area, you are surrounded by works of local artists depicting scenic nature scapes of the local area and the reception staff is readily available to answer any questions you may have—whether it be about the resort or the artwork! The resort grounds offer privacy or social engagement with other like minded guests—the interaction’s aesthetic is based on your vibe. The rooms are perfectly appointed with just what you need and a few things you may have forgotten. Staff encourages you to ask if at first you don’t see what you may be missing, and is readily available. The pier provides a natural backdrop for watching the first light of the day awaken with your coffee, or the last light of day before night falls with a cocktail. If you engage in stillness for just a moment, the sounds of marine life jumping and splashing as they pass by become your orchestra. The botanical gardens provide a lovely interactive walk around the grounds and the water toys included in your stay (paddle boards and kayaks) provide a different kind of interaction. This is a beautifully appointed resort, and acts as an antidote to the tedium of our everyday lives.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience celebrating our Anniversary at this lovely resort. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a lovely lady by the name of Kathryn, who graciously made our accommodations absolutely perfect. We enjoyed our bungalow, which was well-appointed with delightful decor and luxurious linens. The resort boasts impeccably lush botanic gardens that provide wonderful shade and alluring relaxation throughout the well-kept grounds. The tropical pool invites all guests to enjoy the refreshing water. The real magic happens at sunset - come see for yourself. Kuna Kai is the perfect getaway.
