I really liked this resort. I was given a Hollywood King room which I don't normally like as it is two single beds put together with a mattress topper. I would prefer a proper King bed or a Queen. In saying that the bed was comfortable. Instead of having a king doona, the bed unfortunately had two single doonas, so I asked for a King doona and was given one promptly. I was in a Grande deluxe room which had a lovely view of the sea, lovely bathroom and very modern with a nice private balcony. The air-conditioning was fabulous. The resort has 5 pools with one of the pools being higher up the hill, which was nearby to my room and hardly anyone used it so it was nice and private. Pools are varying depths. There are stairs to get up and down these rooms or you can use the lift. The only issue I had on the first day was after being escorted and shown my room, I got lost when I went out of the room and struggled to find my way back due to the design of the walkways and stairs on this side of the resort. Some better signage would have been invaluable as it was hot and humid and I had to traverse numerous steps trying to find where my room was again. There are various types of rooms including bungalows although the bungalows are made up of two rooms side by side. This would be beneficial to families who want two rooms. I thought the breakfast was lovely and a good range. I ate lunch and dinner at the resort most days as the cost was reasonable. There was another restaurant but I didn't eat there for dinner but did eat outside a couple of times for lunch which was nice. If you eat outside in the evening take some insect repellant. Resort right on the beach although rocks around, but if you stick to swimming between the flags you will be okay. When I went there was always a sunbed that was free. I know some other reviewers lamented the fact people would reserve sun lounges. Well guests are not supposed to reserve sun lounges so if ignorant people do you are free to use the sunbed. If it is not being used it isn't theirs and all guests are given information at time of booking that sun loungers are not to be reserved. I had some nice massages at the day spa. This resort is close to shops, about a five minute walk. I saw some of the other resorts in Khao Lak when I went on a day tour and they weren't close to shops so I thought this resort was in a good position. There is also a medical clinic 10 minute walk away which I had to use one evening. If you need an iron and board housekeeping are more than happy to bring one to your room. The staff are lovely and helpful.
