Kohea Kai Maui, Ascend Hotel Collection

The front desk staff are absolutely incredible, very friendly and super helpful with any questions/requests you may have. The only thing I wish could have been different: having dishes and dish soap in the room. You have access to a mini fridge and microwave, but it’s tough to make a quick breakfast/lunch if you’re trying to budget. The restaurants in the area are awesome but you’ll run out of $$ quickly if you’re eating out for every meal! A few microwave-safe dishes would have been great. Other than that, couldn’t have asked for anything else! Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.

Could hear people next to us late into the night. Bed was not very comfortable. Pool and surrounding was not very resort feeling. Location was great and service people were great.

Parking is sketchy but land is precious in Hawai'i.

The outside looks weathered but the rooms are very nicely renovated and clean. The staff is super helpful and very kind. I really have enjoyed my stay.

The in-room description on the reservation through ******* was different from the room into which we were booked.We were to have a “1 king, 2 bedroom suite, oceanfront” that priced out by ******* from $550 to $560 per day (paid in advance through Expedia),not including taxes and fees.The hotel receptionist verified, the room we were actually booked into was a standard room, priced at approximately $325/day, not including taxes and fees and that we would have to work with ******* for a refund. ******* tried multiple times to verify the price differences and after at least 8 days, they informed us that they were unable to obtain approval for a refund from the manager. We also tried to speak to the manager. We were denied a phone number. We left multiple messages and never received a response. According to the receptionist, the manager, when she finally talked to *******, told them something about "room taxes,” indicating that what we had already paid did not account for room taxes. (Since we have not been able to talk to the manager we don’t know exactly what she reported to *******.) The manager may be confused, because our ******* receipt shows that the higher room rate and room taxes were paid. Apparently ******* can do no more for us. So, we are left with doubts about the efficacy of using ******* to plan future travel, especially if hotels can switch the quality of a booked room at-will. We cannot recommend that any travelers plan a stay at the Kohea Kai Maui!

8 of us stayed in the 3 bedroom 2 bath suite. It was nice and spacious, larges kitchen and dinning area, washer and dryer. The staff was great, short drive to shopping center and eateries in the area. 👍👍👍

Incredibly clean and great service. A very comfortable and compatible affordable place to stay on Maui.
