We anticipated a bit of history and old charm in a room at the castle. It was a basic hotel room. There was only 1 eating option for dining when we were there which was at the golf course adjacent to the castle. We could not use the spa as it was undergoing a one day renovation. Noone told me that when i tried to book a massage. The fitness centre was truly a joke. The equipment in the gym was likely in the original castle. Do not miss the quintessential Irish pub nearby Half Moon Cross. It was spectacular.

Kilkea is a beautiful property! We stayed two nights in our comfortable Carriage House room. The room was comfortable, clean and oh the water pressure in the shower. Divine! We enjoyed drinks in the bar where Filip made the best whiskey sour ever. The weather was perfect so we could sit outside on the patio and when it got cool, we moved by the fireplace inside. Breakfast was wonderful each morning and cooked to order. We would definitely stay again!

Killkea is absolutely amazing and relaxing. I stayed here for one night for my birthday,had room in the castle, and from arrival to departure, everything was amazing!!!! The whole place inside and outside is immaculate!!! The staff are very friendly and helpful, Can wait to return

We had a nice 2 night Valentines break. Quick check in. Room was medium sized clean & comfortable. Breakfast was served to order & was very tasty. We had evening meals in the golf club both nights which was very tasty & service was good, this was a short 2 minute walk from the castle.

I can’t recommend Kilkea castle enough. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Five stars just isn’t enough. The grounds were pristine, the food delicious and we have never experienced customer service like this. If you are ever in the area please put Kilkea Castle on your must-do list.

Such a unique experience. Castle and grounds are beautiful. There are several levels of accommodations- the castle, the carriage rooms (attached to castle courtyard) and lodges near the world class golf course club house and restaurant (Hermione’s). Big location for weddings on the castles manicured gardens. Several extra options available to include falconry experience (owls, hawks & falcons) which we truly enjoyed. In addition to castle and golf course, there is also a spa. Staff is great. We stayed in a carriage room in the castle’s courtyard with full access to the castle. Only minor short coming was we would have liked to have had a mini-fridge in the room.

We stay in the lodge room for 1 night room is ok,place outside is very nice garden and big place.the shower drain very slow while you shower water stuck on your feet.the hair dryer nozzle not fit properly. I expect Castle hotel is amazed me but not in my expectations.

Attentive staff especially Andrew in the castle bar. Stunning grounds. Food was exceptional. Elemis toiletries were a nice addition. We only have good things to say. We will not forget your Irish hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay we hope to return one day …….

We had high expectations for Kilkea and they were surpassed! The castle itself is beautiful on the outside and the inside, and the grounds are just so beautiful, especially the gardens. It almost made us want to golf and we are not even golfers! We had lunch at The Bistro and breakfast at the Restaurant 1180 and both meals were delicious and the service was outstanding even though we didn't feel fancy enough at times! We had a falconry session and that was ultimately the best part of the stay. It was amazing to learn so much from the falconer and be able to hold the birds. We stayed in a room in the castle and we wish we were able to stay longer!
