We were 2 couples and stayed at the Sportsman Inn because it is the closest to the water. We had a small patio with a couple of chairs and a great view of the channel. Sadly on arrival we found out the all the boats were already pulled out of the water. So we were not able to go over to George Island for a hike. However, there was a yoga group and they managed to go to the island. It's sad that this was not communicated to us as we could have also gone over!! But we found out too late. The staff at the Lodge and the Sportsman Inn had written Information that a trip over was not available. Beds at the Sportsman Inn are very comfortable. But be aware that the walls are thin and you can hear all the noise outside even though your windows are closed. The room come with coffee and tea but no kettle is provided so we had to run down to the restaurant every morning for our tea. Staff are very helpful. We were not able to sleep inn after our first night as the cleaning staff vacuumed the hall around 8am!! And the staff do not clean the room during your stay. We had 2 dinners at the Killarney Lodge. I had read good reviews prior to our arrival but both our meals were not great. It's very expensive, huge portions and just not tasty. Very sad. It was obvious that the Lodge is closing for the season so perhaps that's the reason for the poor menu. We had a great lunch at the fish and chip place on the main street which was really good. I guess we came at the wrong time of the year. The hiking is beautiful.

Really relaxed atmosphere here. We enjoyed our stay. Drinks on the patio. Great servers too. Watching the boats and planes was really nice. Was hoping the oyster bar was open but we missed out. Hopefully next visit.

We only stayed 1 night and it was a nice enough stay. We were in the motel part where you have to climb up some stairs to the rooms. It was ok with us but for people like my mother-in-law with compromised mobility, it was a bit of a struggle. This is not a criticism - just something for others to be aware of. The Inn is right on the marina and there are a few places alongside the Inn to stroll and sit by the water. There is ample parking. Rooms were very clean and spacious. The bathrooms are small and the light is controlled from outside the bathroom - so if you get up in the night to go, you'll need to find your way in the dark or risk waking your roommate. The other thing to be aware of is that for the motel rooms, sound proofing is non-existent. We could hear people outside talking right up to almost midnight and in the morning there were kids running up and down the deck area outside our room which woke us up. Obviously, inconsiderate guests are not the hotel's fault. At the same time, it can be an issue if you want an early night or to sleep in a little. There is a fridge and coffee maker but no microwave or kettle. Not an issue for us but again, others may want to know this. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

We spent 4 nights at the sportsman’s inn. We were only able to get a room in the motel and I think we would have given a 5 star rating if we had one of the other rooms. The good: amazing bedding! Clean room, friendly staff, great location, nice to have access to the Mountain Lodge. Food was good at the main dining room and INCREDIBLE at the Mountain Lodge main dining room! Like so delicious!! And we think a very fair price for the huge portions. The not so good: the walls in the motel are paper thin. You could literally hear the neighbours’ conversations. You can also hear anyone walking on the deck in front of your room and REALLY hear kids if they ran in front of your room as we had our last night. The lights in the bathroom are super bright and when someone gets up in the middle of the night to use the washroom, it is like a police search light goes on, right in your eyes. The switch is on the outside of the bathroom so no chance to go in, close the door and turn the light on. The last night we removed two of the light bulbs and put a towel over the third light. That helped a bit. Also our heater in the bathroom was on permanently. They turned it off at the main switch for the second day but then turned it back on when one of our neighbours said it was cold in their room. We just kept the AC on so we didn’t fry. Beds were also very soft. Too soft for us although some may like it. This needs to be fixed!! The hiking was incredible!! We can’t wait to go back and would book early enough to get a nice room.

The Sportsman's Inn is on the waterfront in the quaint town of Killarney, Ontario. Our room had a beautiful view of the marina, the water and George Island on the other side. The room was a good size for our family of 4 (adults), was clean and nicely set up. We had a "private" balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs where we could sit in the morning or evening. We ate in both Sportos restaurant and the Anchorage restaurant in the Inn and enjoyed both. Sportos is more like a bar type atmosphere, but the food and service were good. Anchorage was more refined, but still casual. The purpose of our trip was to enjoy the hiking trails the provincial park offers and we were only a 10-15 min drive from them, so the location was excellent. We also enjoyed the pool and games room at the Killarney Mountain Lodge which were also available to us. We ate dinner one night at KML and it was also very good.

The room was fresh and clean, the bedding and beds were so comfortable. I really enjoy the overall vibe there. I took a nice soak in the the tub. Walked the beautiful village there. Wish I could stay longer.

Excellent location on the channel with the balcony directly overlooking the oyster bar and boat docks (lots of large cabin cruisers coming and going). Very clean and large room. Very convenient for hiking to the lighthouse on Georgian bay (30 minutes each way) and to do other hikes in nearby Killarney park. Food was good although very expensive which comes with being a very tourist oriented town and having to make their profits in a 2 month window, although I was told this area is in on a major snowmobile path and the Sportsman Inn stays open all winter to cater to this crowd. I would definitely recommend a 3 night trip to the village of Killarney and would recommend the Sportsman Inn which give you access to the outdoor pool at the Killarney Lodge nearby which is nice to take a break at on a nice sunny afternoon after hiking in the morning.

Overall we had an excellent stay at the Sportsman's Inn: every single member of staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on the top floor with the private balconies, although we shared a railing with one of our neighbour suites, so not private in the sense of having a private conversation, but it wasn't really a problem for us. It was lovely to sit out and watch the boats coming and going - very peaceful. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with an air conditioning unit and overhead fan, which were needed since we had nothing but sunny, hot weather during our stay. The beds were very comfy, with pillow top mattresses and crisp linens. Our suite was modern and updated, so if that's the feel you want in an accommodation, you will be happy. The room had a basic coffee maker and a mini fridge, which was useful for keeping leftovers we didn't want to waste, especially given the food prices these days. If we had planned a little better, we might have taken some breakfast/lunch basics with us to ease some of these costs. (FYI a bag of Ruffles at the general store was $8.99, the No Frills bags $2.99, so I definitely recommend buying snacks before travelling.) Do eat at the Carousel lounge at the Killarney Mountain Lodge - the ribs were amazing and generally the whole menu was good value. If you like oysters, don't miss Big Willy's, which out in front of the Inn at water's edge! We really enjoyed our stay, it was good value and the people were lovely. I highly recommend Sportsman's Inn, especially since the Killarney Mountain Lodge facilities are fully at your disposal, only a 5-10 minute walk away. We spent most days by the pool and kayaking!
