On checking in to Kings Row we were advised the carpets would likely be wet as they had been cleaned that morning (despite us having booked 2mths prior to arrival), not ideal but we accepted it. On entering the apar**ent we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was, especially for the price. The view was incredible and the sound of the ocean at night was great. The proximity to everything was excellent. Our first disappoin**ent was the smell from the drains in the laundry (and the main bathroom). Next, there was residue (I assume from the carpet cleaning) on the tiles in the kitchen which was very unpleasant to walk on not to mention extremely slippery but a quick mop over with the mop provided and that was sorted. We decided on an early night and some TV in bed, however we couldn't get the TV working. The living room TV had Foxtel however the broken couch was extremely uncomfortable to sit on for too long. The bed was like concrete and we ended up putting all the spare blankets (which could have done with some laundering) under the sheet to try and create a 'mattress topper' ....................it didn't really help oh and when we took the mattress protector off we found a tag off a pair of womens underwear!!!! Next, the pillows were very flat so we grabbed the extras from the single beds in the 2nd room (imagine my surprise at feeling something not quite right and on inspection finding an instruction book for a small camera) inside the pillowcase!!! Clearly they had not been changed and the photo will show how grubby and thread bare they were. On to the ensuite, which had a spa. I filled it the 2nd night and when I turned it on the scum on top of the suds was disturbing, needless to say I didn't use it. Would I recommend it, probably not. Would I stay again, probably not. I didn't expect the Ritz for the price but at $130 per night I expect it to be clean.
