Green Ginger House

The noise from the bars outside the room was loud, went on to the early hours and meant we could not sleep. Our sleep was further hindered by an incredibly uncomfortable mattress. It was lumpy and unsupportive. In addition, the bathroom door did not close. We contacted Green Ginger House and got no reply.

The room was very clean. Everything was modern and worked well. There was no one to check in with, which was strange for me, but with just the email was able to get in no problem. The only reason i didn't rank it higher is to keep in mind that on Saturday nights (maybe more but only stayed one night), is the music is loud and there's partying going on, which i didn't know.

What can I say! We’re already planning our next stay! Check-in was super easy. We were sent our access codes for the main door, reception door and door to our room a couple of days before our stay, but did read online that they might even have been sent to us on the day of travel, so was really pleased to receive them in advance. We were instantly greeted with a lovely open spaced seating area in what would typically be known as the reception area. Through a couple of doors, you then find the lift. We stayed in Room 15 overlooking Silver Street (mid-week). No issues at all. Lovely and quiet, as was the hotel - perfect! The room was spacious, clean and very comfy (loved the pillows - where are they from please??). The bathroom was again, very clean and spacious with lovely toiletries. Oh - I forgot to mention that there was a drinking water tank as you got out of the lift and sanitiser too (also sanitiser as you walk in through the main door - I love this and that places should have always had this, even prior to Covid). We booked this particular hotel as it’s within Hull’s old town. We love the olde worlde pubs and were thrilled to discover a new one (new to us) bang opposite the hotel… The George. Well worth a visit and very reasonably priced drinks. For amazing quality, home cooked pub grub, we’d recommend the Lion and Key - great value for money, very filling and definitely home cooked! Absolutely loved staying here room's are beautiful lovely furniture comfy bed amazing shower! Spotlessly clean very pleasant experience love the fact you get a code to let you in all straight forward don't have to see anyone which is great. It is quite noisy but didn't bother us we knew it would be lively because of where its situated will 100 percent be staying again thank you ! .

Nice room but smelt a little fusty, window can't be opened. Middle of town so very noisy if you want an early night plus the council were going past in the early hours with a leef blower to clean up ready for the daytime.

Great central location near to the old town. Easy access and parking. Nice and clean. Negatives were a big crack in the window, very dark reception area, lights in bathroom go off by themselves even if you are stood at the sink or using the toilet and a very noisy early beer delivery to the pub opposite However, I would stay again.

All perfectly clean, but dark stuffy and hot. Towels were thick and good. Bathroom excellent. Access was difficult. Outside keypad difficult to see in daylight and sun. Bed was small although a double and room was very hot and windows were impossible to open. Aircon was not effective enough. Pleased it was only one night.

Good system with codes for rooms instead of keycards like most hotels

The design and decor were stylish and delightful. The lift mechanism in the foyer for heavy items is ingenious. Prompt feedback to assist with queries.
