No way to check in.

Liked the architecture, grounds Breakfast wasn’t free as implied

great service.

I reserved a room for July 10 a Monday evening and was charged for the room a month in advance. When we arrived on that evening, the place was unoccupied and the number to reach the office was not answered. We had no way of getting into the facility or into a room. We tried calling again on Tuesday with to no avail. We finally reached someone on Wedenesday and they apologized and said that the individual who's number we called did not have phone service and so they would cancel our reservation so we could receive a full refund. Now we are a month later and they have refused to refund out money. If you aren't open, you should not allow a room reservation and most certainly not take payment. Beware of booking this place!!!

It was magnificent

A**osphere was fine but not handicap accessible, making us limp down a long flight of stairs to our table. Had a few flatbreads and a cheeseball appetizer and coffee. Burgers were overpriced. The waitress was exceptional and food was quickly delivered to the table.

We planned a very last minute trip to the Peter Allen Inn after having some plans cancel for our weekend. We searched for a B&B with nearby wineries within an hour of our home in Geauga County, Ohio. I found the Peter Allen Inn online and was glad to see a room was available. We booked it, not really knowing the venue or surrounding area. It was wonderful! The Peter Allen Inn is gorgeous from the moment you pull into the parking lot. The building is beautifully maintained. The landscaping makes for a lovely setting. We were amazed at the quality of the building from the outside in; every inch is perfectly painted, polished, and kept beautifully clean. The carpets look to be brand new, and the wood floors were gleaming. We stayed in the Dudley Allen room, and it was perfectly appointed. Comfortable bed with luxurious bedding, a fireplace that is easy to use, lush robes in the closet, chocolates and water left in the room for us (complimentary) and a gorgeous updated bathroom. That the owners were able to somehow maintain the historical integrity of the rooms, while also providing updated comforts is a wonder. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs, and that, too was wonderful. I had a pizza, and my husband had the Tavern burger, and we shared a bottle of Moscato. We felt the food was very good, the setting was unbeatable (outside on a lovely night with a friendly server and live music!), and the pricing was very fair. We also made our way to the Hartford Hill Winery on our trip, and that was worth the 15 min drive! Their "Dream Crusher" wine was wonderful if you like sweet wines. In the morning, we came downstairs and had our complimentary breakfast in the Hearth Room. We enjoyed juice, coffee, and fruit while we waited for our breakfast to be served. There is no menu; it is simply what the cook makes that morning. We had fantastic french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, and the best home fried potatoes I've ever had. We left absolutely stuffed. All in all, we truly enjoyed our little getaway. The Peter Allen Inn does a fantastic job of making you feel right at home, but in the lap of luxury at the same time. We look forward to returning!

Having dined at Peter Allen several times it seemed the perfect location for an overnight stay for a special birthday. I assumed my hotel experience would yield the quality as previous dining experiences. I was wrong. After I checked in, I noticed the room needed a few things, like a coffee pot and some cups, and some coffee, sugar, cream! Okay more than a few things. The coffee pot and cups were in the dishwasher but someone forgot to clean them. The hair in the shower and the unswept carpet added to the delight of having the cleaning crew in our room at 8 pm taking care of the “disinfecting” that is touted in their ads. Not a comfortable feeling after a year of COVID 19 restrictions. If only it ended there. We dined in the tavern but had to send back two orders of Chicken Picatta. Never had it with thick, gray gravy and balsamic glaze. Was then told by the waitress that the chef was fired and there were problems in the kitchen. The bar manager said he would take the orders off our bill and offered desserts on the house. Nothing was taken off the bill and we were charged for the desserts. Feeling our total frustration, upon checkout we were told out hotel stay would be comped. It was not and when I called the inn I was told by the “innkeeper” that they never said that. I guess the 3 of us were in a food coma when we were told that. Liar, liar, pants on fire! Try Gervasi. Their quality remains intact.
