The property features friendly staff, comfortable rooms with river views, and an excellent breakfast, but guests find the prices for food, drinks, and stays to be excessively high. It's set in a picturesque location with convenient train access.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Dundas Arms. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our room on the canal was comfortable and we slept well. The food was excellent and we dined both evenings. The breakfast was delicious and the black pudding was the best I have ever tasted! Thanks to all the staff who made our stay a great one. Hopefully we will return at some point as we had such a lovely time. The weather certainly helped.

Lovely spot on the beautiful Kennet and Avon. Our room had a balcony overlooking the water and was beautifully decorated. Louise really looked after us and we were well fed and enjoyed a cosy fire as the weather had turned cooler. A really nice atmosphere.

Called in with my wife on Sunday for a drink. One pint of Butcombe Gold, a pint of Guiness and a bag of salted peanuts...£14.40. Nearly had to consider taking a loan! Not sure how the bill was broken down. I should have accepted the receipt. Atmosphere disappointing and certainly no service with a smile!

A Birthday Sunday Lunch which happened to be Mothers Day too. The restaurant was busy. Our table was booked for 2pm. We were shown to a table that was not in the main restaurant tucked away in a corner 6 of us at a table for 4. Our orders were taken very quickly. However an hour later we were still waiting and had to ask if we had been forgotten. Lots of apologies but still had to wait. The starters were all very enjoyable. All six of us ordered Roast beef for mains. The beef was superb. The vegetables just bout warm. The roast potatoes were so crisp they were hard (Reheated ?) the parsnips were pale just about cooked and tasteless. The magnificent looking yorkshire pudding leathery and had to torn apart as could not cut them. A family outing for Grandad's Birthday plus Mothers day. Embarrassingly awful.

Sunday late afternoon at 5:30pm for drinks with friends. The bar area had very little seating (only high stools) even though there were only 2 other small groups, and the "snug" area had chairs on some tables and the barman said the area was out of bounds because "they would be closing soon". Closing time was advertised as 7pm for Sunday (90 minutes to go) so we were surprised and disappointed by the lack of welcoming space to sit and drink. We ended up moving chairs off tables to find suitable seating.

We were well looked after from the moment we arrived until we departed...well done guys !!!.Lovely warm room overlooking the river.Breakfast was excellent and very tasty. One minor point. the bedroom could do with decorating as looking a litle tired and walls scuffed in places. We will def return in the spring/summer when it is dry and sunny .

Stayed for 2 nights for our 35th wedding anniversary, room was spacious and comfortable with two very nice easy chairs. The shower had a bit of a mind of its own, but was lovely, hot and very powerful. Nice tea and coffee without the usual Nescafé! Particularly liked the Monbana hot chocolate. Great food and staff very friendly and hardworking. Nice walks along the canal, all in all we’d go back.
