We booked an over night stay here for 7th April. Upon arrival we instantly loved the a**osphere, buzzing with families eating Sunday lunch and people out having a couple of drinks. We were instantly welcomed with beaming smiles from Frankie and Mark offering us a drink. We were shown to the check in desk and again welcomed by a lovely member of staff, we didn’t catch her name unfortunately. We checked in and were shown our room, the room had a horse theme and was called Arkles. It was tastefully decorated and very spacious. The smell of brand new carpets was the first thing we noticed. The room was fully equipped with bathrobes, towels, additional blankets, coffee machine, kettle, ironing facilities. A lovely touch of curly wurley’s too. We went into the bar for a drink, there was plenty to choose from. Bar snacks were available such as a variety of different style chips as well as crisps and nuts. We didn’t try these as we were booked in for Sunday lunch. The Sunday lunch was beautiful, I had a trio of meats and my husband went for the beef. There was plenty of veg, a Yorkshire pudding and mountains of gravy. Our waitress Lily was outstanding, great service with a smile and checked in regularly to ensure we were ok. We then found out that she was only 14!! For a young girl she was a hard worker and very professional. Then came night, the beds and pillows were so comfy! A great nights sleep had by us both. Breakfast was amazing! Plenty to choose from eggs Benedict, eggs florentine, scrambled egg and salmon etc. there was fruit, cereal and toast also available. We chose to have the full Yorkshire breakfast. I’m not usually a fan of this type of breakfast but it was delightful, very tasty! Again the same person that checked us in the previous day also served us breakfast. A lovely member of staff making sure everything was perfect for our breakfast. The owner also came over and made conversation. If you are ever in this area, this place is an absolute must to stay! It truly is a 5 star establishment.
