Cannot fault staff, pub or food. However the room, while a good size needed a more thorough cleaning. Dusty and carpet needs cleaning.

The Golden Pheasant in Plumley is a place I drive passed at least twice a week and have never been in before as we life about 35 mins away. We booked today for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic, we were served by a lady named Amy. The Customer Service you would find harder to beat anywhere, the ambience, service and food quality were excellent, will definitely be calling back with family next time and 100% recommend. Thanks Amy, enjoy your holiday Turkey. Ian & Gill (Cuba)

Staff were ok, very standard. The premises was quite big and there were about 5 cars parked so I can’t imagine business is great. The decor was super old, not shabby chic, just shabby, all dark wood and like it’d come from a charity shop, which is probably due to the size of the premises and furniture needed to fill the place. The wood was very worn on everything from the cupboards to the bannisters and doors. Shower was ok. The TV was small and so far from the bed that the remote barely worked. We didn’t get a login for the internet. The room was cold and it was quite noisy until about 11pm. The guest entrance looked like it was just off the latch and open all night as it was beeping late at night and same in the morning when we walked past. Breakfast was pretty poor, the vegetarian breakfast came without the veggie sausage, the full English was tasteless, both went unfinished, the waitress didn’t even crack a smile but did bring us milk with floating bits in it and eventually brought some sauce. Overall, a fairly miserable experience and there’s no way this place was worth the cost, we stayed at somewhere nearby a week earlier which was far better and far cheaper. We think someone defrosted the car for us in the morning, so that was a small bonus, probably for the quick getaway though to be fair.

This Pub is set in a lovely sleepy location, but only minutes from major roads. The staff are both professional and friendly. The pub is welcoming with a great bar and restaurant. There is plenty of parking, complete with a 22kw chargers for EV's. The room was spacious and spotlessly clear. There was both a kettle and two cafetieres with fresh decaf coffee, if you wanted it. The bed was large and comfortable with good bedding. The bathroom had a great shower and plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries, if needed. As it was a Monday evening, the pub was quiet, however the food was good pub food from a varied menu. Prices are reasonable for both food and drinks. We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package which was very good value. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Our only comment would be the choice of some fresh fruit would have been appreciated. Overall, we would stay here again. It is part of a chain of hotels at which we have stayed before. Our previous experience, was equally as positive.

The staff are very helpful and polite, unfortunately the room is clean but tired, comfortable but not as advertised on the website when we booked no walk-in shower either. The evening meal was very nice and good selection again staff very friendly and helpful. The noise was from the road at the front as we needed the window open

Went on Chris**as Day 2023 for the Christas dinner. Disappointed. The food was very ordinary. We chose turkey for the main course and everything was brought to the table piled on the plate, covered in a congealing gravy and topped by a large Yorkshire pudding. No finesse in the cooking or the serving. Lastly we were given cups of cold tea and coffee. First time at the Pheasant for a meal. Might go again out of curiousity to see if they can do better, but cerainly never on Chris**as Day.

Beautiful location and beer garden. Rooms were ok but very tiered, in need of a freshen up and dragging out if the 1980's. Please remove the horrible net curtains, they are filthy! Apart from the room, everything else was lovely. Brilliant service from all staff members, check in was friendly and all bar and waiting on staff were wonderful.
