Very strange place. Booked for Afternoon tea. Walked into reception and made to feel like we were inconveniencing staff by just walking in. Asked to wait for a few minutes then a very strange lady took us through to the dining room. It took an eternity to get a cup of tea, then even longer to get food. I think she was making the afternoon tea herself in the back… all very peculiar. The food was very poor, cheap finger sandwiches, no clotted cream for the scones, it came with double cream! Served with a rotten strawberry as pictured! We had finished our tea by the time the food arrived but no service at all to be able to even ask for another drink. We ate most of it and just left, called at the garden centre instead for a coffee. Would not recommend here to anyone. We were really looking forward to our visit but just a total let down.

Great location we had afternoon tea overlooking the lake and then stayed over. Breakfast was amazing too!

The room although not large was good. It was nice a peaceful and well supplied.
The evening meal had a good menu and the food and service were top notch.
The breakfast was fresh and the welcome set-up the day nicely
I look forward to my return visit later this year.

Paid a fair amount for the Room over 150 quid .. no breakfast 🍳 included .. Room is comfortable but dark and the vista is beer barrels and a wooden fence . This place needs some TLC as its border line turning in maintained on exteriors .. One thing I don’t do is complain .. what I want is attention to detail .. we had sandwiches for lunch with salad .. a knife only to accompany .. Management take a look your wobbling

This is my second review as my first attempt on ‘Sugarvine’ has been ignored. Attended The Mere Court hotel for afternoon tea on 3/5 with my wife, present from our son for her birthday. There was a wedding party there also who seemed to take precedent over those there for other reasons ie afternoon tea. We waited and waited and after it was eventually served we had finished it before the tea and coffee which l eventually had to go and ask for at reception. It was at this point that l saw our waitress working on the wedding in a different room which explained why we had not seen her. I did not want to make a fuss at the time but sent an email to the hotel as soon as l got home as l felt that we received a second rate service because of the wedding despite being paying customers. I have since sent 4 emails to the manager all of which have been ignored !!!! It would appear the customer can NEVER complain at the Mere and if you do you are ignored. Let’s see !!! Good food poor service !

Came for afternoon tea with my mum. We had a great experience. The food was lovely and the waitress Annie was very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She also spoke to the chef Dave as I had not requested prior for a plain scone. However, they managed to get one for me with no fuss. Would highly recommend.

A party of five thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Meer Court near Knutsford in Cheshire. The food and service from this hotel restaurant was top notch. The quality of food and presentation was outstanding and we all now are looking forward to our next visit. Well done to the staff who were experiencing a busy day with Wedding Fair and afternoon teas also being catered for.

Second time here. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. My only criticism is the lack of sinage from the rooms to reception.
