The Blue Gecko

I have travelled around Thailand for a month and this was one of my last stops. Out of every hotel I stay this was my favourite one. The staff were SO helpful with everything. They helped me book speed boats and gave me recommendations to all the best places. I rented a scooter from them and it was in good condition and super convenient for the island. The breakfast that was included was delicious and the hotel rooms are super comfortable. Overall I would say my favourite thing about this place is the staff. All of them are amazing, friendly and kind people.

This place is absolutely lovely. I’ve stayed here twice already, and it truly feels like my second home. Gyoergy, the owner, is incredibly kind, and every staff member here is amazing. I especially love the atmosphere and the breakfast. I’m really impressed. If you’re visiting Lanta, I genuinely recommend staying here. 💚

This is NOT a luxury 5 Star resort. It is basic accommodation but it does it very well. The owner, George, has thought through his cottages very carefully. Everything, including furnishings are made from poured concrete but it works very effectively. Nothing is broken and there is no rot or mold anywhere. The mattress was very comfortable and every cottage has a porch with 2 chairs and a small round table. The shower stall and bathroom sink is spotless with nice tiles throughout. The shower has plentiful hot water. Everything was painted nicely and George was renovating the public restrooms. There are multiple sitting areas. All windows are black glass with heavy blackout curtains so a sleep in is actually possible. The A/C is quiet and effective. The bar fridge is very cold. This is all located a 2 minute walk to a beach about 100m wide and almost 2 km long with clear, calm water. Multiple restaurants, massage parlours, scuba stores and scooter rentals are all within a 2 minute walk. George is an intelligent and very knowledgeable person and well worth some time spent chatting with. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices per night are unbelievable. We highly recommend the Blue Gecko.

Very Overpriced! This was among the only choices we had at the time for 3 nights. It is extremely overpriced and what you get for the money is basically a joke! We stayed at many hotels previously, like Nakara which is one block away for cheaper, with a nice bungalow, pool, beach access, breakfast, etc. Blue Gecko, although the owner was nice, I could not recommend unless absolutely last resort. They turned water off randomy without any notice, and suddeny shower or brusching teeth, or go to bathroom was not possible, even at like 23:00 at night. I would never go here again.

It’s a bed and a toilet. No furniture. If it wasn’t for the location I suspect nobody would ever stay here
