Moonlight Bay Resort

In the middle stretch of the island, if you prefer a quieter spot. Accessible if you are able to ride motorbike to explore other parts, otherwise tuktuk could be expensive to go around @300bht/couple or so. However, a 5-7mins walk out to a short street of food, massage, mini mart & bakery, good for our short stay. Nice clean, comfortable & spacious villa of various type. We stayed nearest to the frontal row towards road/concierge, a walk-up pool & forest facing. There are other larger villas nearer beachfront restaurant/another pool or facing the beach. Beachfront is very short stretch, private & rocky beach. Nice & relaxing view within the hotel area but not to be explored out from the beach. Low season during our stay was not overcrowded but when all the guests stayed in, may face a shortage of deck chairs; we brought our towel to lay by the beach instead.

We stayed there 6 nights in the end of March 2025. We had a seafront Bungalow and they are really nice and worth the extra price, with a nice big terrace right above the mostly empty private beach of the resort. Breakfast was ok, and as to be expected. We always found something. They just should cool the butter or let the portions swim in icewater because the portions were melting as the breakfast area is in the open (no clima) but with view to the sea. The bungalow was spacious, just 1 or 2 more lamps would be helpful. On check in the bungalow has not been cleaned (although afternoon!) and we had to wait for the cleaning (went to beach) We did not use the small pool, as the ocean is right in front of it and we took the sunbed futher down to the beach were there was some shade from a tree. A little problem are the rocks in the water. When it is low tide swimming was almost impossible as it was very difficult to reach deeper water. Snorcheling was not very good as water was not very clear. Massages right above the beach were good, a little more expensive than on other beaches in Thailand, but of course still cheap compared to Germany. We would have wished some mores Restaurants in the vicinity at the beach, but due to the rocks on the beach to both sides of the resorts it's not possible to make a stroll on beach. Along the coastal road to the right you find 2-4 restaurants within 10 minutes walking. To the left is a very good, but not so pricy reataurant, owned by a french guy. Motorbikes can be rented at the reception, which is recommended. (we went to Monkey beach, which was very nice) All in all we reommend this Hotel.

Quite the hidden gem. Beautiful setting. Rooms are huge and polished. Nothing better than a long sundowner meal at the sand-touching tables of the beach restaurant. Food really good. Breakfast was only average. Would've like to have spent a week here instead of the one, measly day.

I rarely give 10 out of 10 but moonlight deserved. Location is great.North is noisy and a little bit crowd, south is not convenient. Moonlight is in middle of lanta and just near the sea.It has its own beach and there is a wood cabin you can lay down to get massage. Food is good.My package includes breakfast.There are fresh fruits, bacon,yogurt .I stayed 2 days in moonlight ,the 2 days' breakfast is same but delicious . Room is clean and towards to ocean.I booked ocean view room and the view is stunned. Service is 11 out of 10! Staff is very polite and enthusiastic.You can fell everyone is so happy then you'll become happy too.Trust me, moonlight is perfect place to chose.
