As for the location, it's a few minutes away from JR Station and you can see Akashi Castle from the window. However, I was woken up by the sound of the pump in the middle of the night and couldn't fall asleep. I asked to change rooms in the morning. When I checked in again at night, there was still the sound of the pump. Be careful if you are a light sleeper.

For Japanese hotels, the room size is quite satisfactory and the hygiene is very clean. You can see the sea from the window of the room. The sea and bridge are beautiful at night. It is very close to the seaside. If it is summer, you can take your children to play in the sand and go for a walk after meals. Although the buffet doesn’t have a lot of options, it still has everything you should have~ Rice with stewed beef tendon goes very well with rice. It’s my favorite dish as a meat lover~ Highly recommended~ Because I didn’t make a reservation for dinner, the hotel restaurant was completely full that day and I couldn’t eat anything... There is a Kobe beef BBQ restaurant right after the hotel. It’s expensive, but it’s really delicious~😋For other food, you can only go to JR Maiko The station is over there, about a ten-minute walk~

I went by car, but the affiliated parking lot was full and I parked in the nearby coin parking. There are many parking around the hotel, but I struggled to find it because there are many steps. If you use the train, I think it's good because it's near the station. The room is semi-double and compact. The bed making was clean. Somehow there were a long hair on the bathroom wall, a few hairs on the wall before sitting in the toilet seat, and ３０ centimeters in the bathtub. The toilet cleaned sheet was pasted, and the inside of the bus and the wall were dry. I can only think I wiped it with a used towel... It's a bit creepy. The bedside and outlet are about １ｍ away in a semi-double 1 room. All the lighting was convenient because it was possible to sleep.

Room and bed much larger than expected for a solo traveller like me at such a bargain. Vintage-style design with elements of clock faces seen throughout the hotel. I especially like how they use clock faces and clock arms to represent the floors the elevators are at. Local is convenient, close to the Sannomiya Subway station. The overall experience was great and I would consider booking this again if I had the chance to return to Kobe.

2nd stay at the hotel. Once with a group of 16 and this time with my family of 3. To be fair, the stay was comfortable and I was initially very pleased at choosing Hotel Okura Kobe again. The reason for my low rating is that the hotel laundry service ruined 3 of my sweaters which were sent for dry cleaning. The sweaters have been dry cleaned before without incident but were shrunk considerably after cleaning at the hotel. I believe the dry cleaning was mismanaged and wrote in to give feedback, specifically that this type of mistake with laundry should not be happening at a hotel which markets itself on the higher end of the spectrum. Did receive a cookie cutter reply from the housekeeping manager acknowledging my complaint. I think the incident was perhaps caused by new staff that were poorly trained. Pity, the incident ruined my experience and resulted in the poor rating for an otherwise pleasant stay.

The place runs on central heating system in early April when it is already 20 degrees outside. There's just a tiny window in the room. Because the temperature in the room is high already, the heater will not run, but given there is no air con, there is literally no air flow in the room. Had to borrow a fan from reception to deal with it. The remote unit of the toilet system does not always work too.

Arrived without the view from the room, so the surrounding hotels and buildings are assumed. The room is clean and the bathroom is separate. The breakfast was delicious. I thought again, but the size of the tissue box is easy to use. The small type of square has been hard to get, so it's good to recur. GGuest User部屋に露天風呂付き、朝夕部屋食でこの宿を選びました。この条件としては他のホテルに比べとても安くてお得感がありました。部屋での食事は工夫されていておいしく、また係りの方も丁寧で良いです。フロントにはありましたが、部屋にアルコールスプレーが置かれていないのは残念でした。部屋の露天風呂は大きな開き戸を全開すると天井はありますが露天風呂になります。半露天かな。ラドン温泉水は常時注ぎ込まれており、バスタブは深く広く夫婦と子供2人の4人くらいなら一度に入れるくらいの大きさでとても開放感があります。部屋にはその浴槽1つのみで、身体の洗い場スペースもあります。その開放された窓からの景色はすばらしく、川向こうの山の爽やかな緑一面なのでとてもリラックスできます。鴻朧館のHPのトップにある景色そのままでした。さらに高価格の宿と比較すると設備で高級感は少し劣りますが、有馬の他の宿は街中にあるのでこの景色は臨めないでしょう。大浴場は行っていませんがコロナ前には小さい缶ビールも無料提供されていました。現在は中止中でした。川沿いに金泉のお風呂もあります。駅からはシャトルバスがあり、川沿いを少し上ると意外と混んでいるマス釣り場や滝があります。

Ggmsl2018It would take a whole page of details to describe how nice this place is in 2020. I stayed there three times, each time in different rooms, each time perfect. It is just NICE. Location is perfect, quiet yet one stop from Kobe, the neighborhood is romantic like Greenwich Village or Montmartre or a nice place in San Francisco. The little house is very cute, very homey, with a large common space. The staff are incredible. Just rush to stay there before the team get old and change business. For the time being, they are super super master of genuine hospitality. They made me understand what is the pinnacle of a ”guesthouse Japanese style”. There is an elevated railway line running just on the other side of the street. It is not a problem because during the night, there are no trains. I fully recommend this place. GGuest UserChose this hotel as I was attached by the line” renovated in 2023” in trip.com. It did not live up to my expectation as the room was rather old esp carpet, not feeling it’s clean. The twin beds were small while the picture didn’t show that they were that small. Well, the description was like 0.9-1.4m wide so I can’t blame anyone given it’s a wide range in the bed size. Breakfast is good with lots of variety. The view was great. All in all, it’s not a bad experience if you can manage yourself with the misnomer description of “renovation”.

The parking lot on the day of stay can be parked after 10 am. I checked in at 15:00, but I arrived early because it was crowded the day before the Arima Onsen holiday. From there, I was allowed to wait for an hour at the front desk. 10 minutes ago, the male staff explained the facilities and emergency exits in the building while saying an extra word that it was a little early. If you are an inn like this, you will serve welcome tea and sweets and entertain you at first, but it may be a shortage of labor. The room had an open-air bath. I was satisfied with the massage chair, but unlike the image I saw in advance, the sheets were laid on the mattress. Did you miss the futon? It was so thin.
