Lub d Koh Samui Chaweng Beach - Beachfront & Vibrant Social Vibe

Really enjoyed my stay here! All areas including bathrooms and pool were incredibly clean, thanks to the amazing also friendly stuff who’s doing great job maintaining everything. Food at the hostel’s cafe was great, always fresh and delicious. The hostel does lots of activities for guests. Despite many young solo travellers partying there and it being close to the main road it was never loud. Location also good, you can walk out and find everything you need: cafes, pubs, shops, 7/11 and other convenience stores; Central mall is also like 13 minutes walk. But if you want a beach, you need to take a bike and head other direction, it’s shallow here, not for swimming (look the picture). I stayed 8-mixed bedroom, it was neat, chill, AC working good, had little balcony with hanger where you could dry your things. The hostel also had laundromat and water stations. 10/10!

The location is good, a lot of restaurant and mini mart nearby the hotel. 15mins walk can reach Samui Central. The hotel can access to Cheweng beach, and they prepare the beach mat and towel for you. The staff are friendly and helpful, and able to communicate in English.

I have stayed at Lub d several times and recently spent a full week here. Overall, my stay was smooth and enjoyable, as always, and I truly appreciate the social atmosphere and the location. However, this time I was disappointed with the late check-out experience. On a previous stay, I was kindly allowed a late check-out until 3 pm at no extra cost. This time, I was told there is a strict policy and was charged 500 baht per hour, which added up quickly. I understand that policies can change and that complimentary options are not guaranteed. Still, as a returning guest, I expected a bit more flexibility or at least a more considerate approach. Because of this experience, I have to lower my rating.

Great hostel overall. For solo travelers expect to see lots of couples and groups given half the rooms or more are double bedrooms.
