Atlantica Ocean Beach Resort

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Ocean Beach Resort and we had a great time.. just a few things that let it down. We arrived early hours of the morning and the hotel had put drinks and food in our room which was nice after a long day of travelling. The hotel itself and the rooms are lovely, really nice and modern but they’re not big enough for a family. There was 3 of us, 4 suitcases and a buggy and it was a struggle with all of us getting ready. I went and complained at reception the night we arrived and was told it was standard with the package we booked with Tui and there was nothing they could do to accommodate a bigger room. The balconies are tiny so be mindful if you have floats etc. as you won’t be able to sit outside during the day/evening. The pool area was amazing and plenty of seating. Really good for kids - the slides and the kids pool were a great hit! There was a few families we met who’s children ended up with blisters on their feet from the pool - we did speak to a doctor who said it’s nothing to worry about as it’s just the chlorine (really soft skin on their toes) but definitely bring pool shoes to be safe! We really enjoyed the food down by the beach (burgers, pizza, gyros, waffles, ice cream). We can’t comment on the lunch in the buffet as we never went. Breakfast was good and the dinner was nice but repetitive. We found that if one meat dish was Pork - everything was Pork, there wasn’t a lot of variety of an evening. In comparison to other hotels we have stayed at, I must say the staff were average. All very pleasant but no effort to go that extra mile for you. We found that empty glasses were left by the pool for hours before they were taken away and towards the end of the holiday, we were taking them back to the bar ourselves. My partner asked one of the staff where to get towels from on the first day and we were just shrugged off and no effort to help us. Entertainment is average of an evening, it finishes pretty early and after that, we found the evenings were quite boring. The staff don’t hound you during the day like other holidays we’ve been on which is good but there’s a not a lot of effort to interact with the kids and we didn’t know what was going on during the day half the time. There was a bubble party during the day on a Friday which was so much fun! There is a kids club which my partners son and a few others kids we met absolutely loved so was good for us to be able to relax for a bit! We only saw 2/3 entertainment staff during our stay so I definitely think there should be more.. a lot of kids and adults to entertain, not enough staff to do it. Late check out is available but you have to go the morning of your departure, it’s €70 until 3pm and €100 until 6pm. We ended up paying up until 6pm. Our room wasn’t available to keep on so we had to move, we did suggest just moving the new arrivals into the room we were going to move into so we could keep our room but we were told no, so we had to

We wanted a week in the sun to relax. This resort was perfect for that. The pool was nice and the water was crystal clear. There was no fight for sun loungers as you had your own as well as going to sit elsewhere, again there was no rush plenty of loungers available. We ate in all the restaurants and cannot fault the food in any of them. The buffet was plentiful with a good variety to suit all. The Greek restaurant was by the sea, with nice tastes and great service. The Asian restaurant could be 100% a la carte, but even with buffet we enjoyed it a lot. Service and food were brilliant. The bar staff pampered us when they had enough time. Bartenders were social and tried to communicate instead of serving just drinks. We had a slight issue one morning where the air con seemed to be dripping into our room, we informed reception on our way to breakfast and by the time we returned to our room after breakfast the maintenance man was there and had sorted the problem. Something that truly stood out during our stay was the service from Mr. Vassilios. He was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to ensure our needs were met. Whether he was providing info about our dietary requirements, or arranging a restaurant booking, or addressing any concerns, his attentiveness significantly enhanced our experience. Although there were a few minor areas for improvement, the helpfulness and hospitality of the staff made up for them. In summary we had a great week and came home feeling relaxed, well fed and sad that it was all over so quickly. Thanks!

We stayed here a few days after the hotel had just opened after refurbishment for 11 nights in a sea view room, this was in the ‘bungalows’ as they call them but it just means not in the huge block in the main building. We preferred being over here as opposed to the main building but the rooms are tiny. There’s not enough room in the bathrooms and the balcony didn’t get used as it was just tiny! The location of the hotel is great with restaurants nearby and a few shops. We ate out a few times as the buffet is very repetitive and wasn’t the best. I struggled to find food to eat (as I don’t eat red meat) which wasn’t salad. The Asian Al a carte was amazing although is a buffet for the main which is not really a la carte. The Greek one we didn’t rate. The service was SO slow, we sat for 30 minutes before even being offered a drink or taking our order and there was 30 mins between courses where we sat with our plates in front. Not great. We preferred the wave restaurant down the road, beautiful food! Through the day the snack bar is good for pizza, gyros and burgers but would be good to see some other options here too. The waffles, crepes etc as advertised were nowhere to be seen. Drinks are good although the soft drinks machines need updating. We were there in the heatwave and when it’s 43 degrees, nobody wants lukewarm Pepsi! The staff were really lovely and an absolute joy. Our only issue was with the cleanliness of our room. We didn’t have towels changed and were left dirty on the floor, most days the bed wasn’t even attempted to be mad. I don’t believe the sheets were changed the whole 11 nights. Having stayed at the atlántica dreams in Rhodes this hotel definitely isn’t a 5 star but I know it doesn’t claim to be either. There’s a lot it coman work on but the refurbishment is really well done and furnishings and the vibe of the hotel is lovely. The entertainment team are about, although evening entertainment is pretty rubbish. The min golf is good and they did play some games/zumba etc in the day. The one thing that they need to sort is the clash of music between the pool bar and the entertainment staff. The pool bar was really nice and chilled and the entertainment team would boom out awful music competing with the pool bar, not needed. The gym is really good, free weights, some machines and cardio equipment. We did enjoy our time here but there are just somethings that would make the place much better!

We enjoyed our vacation even more this time because new improvements have made this hotel even more comfortable. The hotel looks wonderful with new updates. Food was delicious and you can enjoy hamburgers, pizzas, gyros and drinks at the pool area. Kids club is a wonderful place for children. Our child enjoyed her time there so much that she didn't want to return back home:) A million thanks to Ritsa&Oksana!!!!!!!! Hotel staff and entertainment team is very friendly and enjoyable.
