I expected the traditional Ryoken to be dated in a historical way, however I was disappointed when it seemed dated in a 1970’s way. The room itself was very large and styled with usual Ryoken decor, yet the floors had stain marks, walls had dirty splash marks and the bathroom had 1970’s styling. I was expecting a more traditional feel to the room. The center garden was devine and the staff were friendly. Breakfast provided was delicious and offered a good selection. Glad I stayed at the property although I wouldn’t travel back there.

Our experience was lovely! We stayed two nights. The staff was so accomodating--it was our first experience at a traditional ryokan, and the staff was very helpful in explaining various customs. They made us feel very at home. The free shuttle to and from the station was very convenient and easy to reserve. The check-in and check-out processes were easy and pleasant as well, with matcha and sweets provided at check-in as an opportunity to rest and look out on the garden. Our room was gorgeous, with a stunning view of the mountains, and sleeping on the tatami was extremely comfortable. We reserved the private onsen both nights of our stay (for a small fee) and that was also a simple and convenient process. Finally, breakfast was amazing--all of the numerous dishes were delicious and beautifully prepared. Overall, it was a truly magical experience staying at Houshi Ryokan. We left this morning and already want to go back! ありがとうございました!

I stayed at a long-awaited monk. Although it is no longer said to be the oldest ryokan, it still has a history of 1300 years. Part of the building is also a tangible cultural property. It's natural, but the building is dilapidated, but I don't mind. There was a matcha service with a view of the proud courtyard. It's a reasonable course, but it's a room meal. The quantity was sufficient and I was able to do it slowly without any problems.

During my two-day stay, I was worried about the stains on the tatami floor in the room. There were two linear marks (width 3 cm, length 40 cm) of spilled liquid, and there was also a stain like a drop of toothpaste. There were also traces of it on the floor of the main room. If I check out as it is, I'm likely to be suspicious, so I asked the inn person to check it out. "The stains and stains weren't made by me. It may be difficult to tell because of the lighting, but you can see them clearly when it's backlit. The inn should check the room after the guest leaves, so why didn't you remove the stains as soon as they found them? It's easy to remove, but it's not easy to remove after a while.Have you ever thought about the feelings of the guests who use the room after this? The Japanese-style room itself is splendid, but it doesn't make sense to leave stains." No,” I said. When I first entered the room after being guided, the room smelled stuffy. With a history of 1,300 years, this hot spring inn is the third longest in Japan, and seems to be poorly maintained. I didn't see anyone cleaning or inspecting the hallway, the dressing room in the bathroom, or the bathroom. The food served at the inn and the hot springs did not leave a particularly good impression. It feels like just a ryokan ruled by a conservative old system. Only the Japanese garden in the courtyard had a good impression. I sincerely hope that this ryokan, Hoshi, which is the central presence of Awazu Onsen, will be revitalized. I was worried whether the young proprietress, Hoshi-san, would be able to carry this difficult situation on her back and get through it safely.

First of all, all the staff were very nice, and they welcomed us without a bad face even if we arrived late. There were many nice considerations such as a welcome matcha service and a coffee coupon present. Above all, the Japanese garden is wonderful. Not only the ground, but also the trees, the wash basin, and the natural moss that is beautifully attached to everything, I felt like I was lost in a mysterious space. However, the building is generally old, and there are places where the earthen walls have fallen off. It looks like a maze because it seems to have been built over and over again. Also, the information on the map I received was very difficult to understand, and my family who went with me was in a bad mood. As for meals, I came all the way to Ishikawa Prefecture, but I couldn't eat fresh fish. Was the sashimi frozen? It was too cold and had no elasticity. There are a number of items, but there is nothing that is delicious. I can't help it, but the body odor of the foreigner who served me was so bad that the room was filled with that smell when I was about to eat delicious food. Due to the structure, I couldn't even open the windows by myself, which was a painful experience. The person himself was a very good person, so I couldn't tell him that there was nothing I could do about it. Even when I used the shower that wasn't being adjusted, the temperature adjustment knob turned around and I waited, but the hot water didn't come out. Even though it is a famous inn in Japan! This is the first time I've seen this and I was surprised. Yubune has one indoor bath and one open-air bath. Is it for children that the shallow part of the mystery is wide? Or for hot spring cure? Satisfaction was low because it was not so wide. The men's bath is about twice as large, but there is no time switch. I always went to the hot springs to the extent that I was tired from the hot water, but I didn't get excited, so I only went in once. Also, the time of the bus to the station in the morning was fixed, and after arriving at the station, I had to wait for 30 minutes... If you send me to the station, I would like you to set it according to the time of the train. Japan's oldest hot spring ryokan has a charm to it, and I sincerely hope that you will do a little more to prevent this kind of review from being posted.

According to the hot spring's inspection certificate, the amount of hot water is 16.1 L/min, which is completely impossible to pour. There was a travel website that said the private hot springs were free-flowing, but the truth is unknown.・There is also a problem with the service. The customer chooses a yukata according to their size at check-in, but Mr. Nakai gives it to the customer. The guidance to the room disappears after sending it to the front of the room. The explanation is only "This is the room" and "This is the large bath" on the way.・The food is neither good nor bad. There is no item that reminds me of how delicious it was. Perhaps to save time and effort, one or two items of pottery and pots using solid fuel are included. It seems to be attracting customers at a low price, but staying at this inn was a mistake considering the travel expenses to the site. I walked around Awazu Onsen town, but there are many closed inns, so it's just one step away from a ghost town. I hope that the museum will do its best with pride in its 1300-year history.

We stayed in the room with a meal plan. Even though the coronavirus pandemic has calmed down, there are still many things to worry about.・A towel left in the room that seems to have been used (only collected, no suggestions for cleaning etc.) ・Nose mask by the waiter who brought the meal ・No mattress sheet on the futon you lay yourself I don't usually care about this kind of thing, but I thought I would be able to stay with less contact with people, so I chose this plan, so I was suddenly worried about whether the cleaning was done properly...whether the futon was okay...etc. However, the bath was great. This time I was on a business trip, so I could only enter once, but when the corona is over, I want to stay for a long time! It's a nice hot spring and facility, so I wish I could think a little more.

古いながらも、風情があり、隅々まで行き届いていました。 お風呂も、脱衣所も清潔でとても良かったです。 ただ、粟津温泉街の寂れ具合にはびっくりしました。 ちょっと軽く何か食べたくても、何もありません。 連泊で旅館の晩ごはんは重たいので、軽めのカフェなど併設されているととてもありがたいです。

予約対応が良くなく、到着してからバタバタしていたのが残念です

歴史のある旅館で、スタッフの対応も丁寧で良かったです。

料理は普通に良かったと思います。部屋もお風呂も古いですが綺麗に清掃されています。人手不足かスタッフに難ありでした。 まず案内してくれた中居さんが息切れしてしんどそう。心臓が悪いの？途中で選んだ浴衣をバサッバサッと投げるようにカゴに入れていました。 朝食会場のスタッフは外国の方でこちらの名前を呼び捨て。日本の旅館なら敬称はつけるべきでしょう。 テーブルにはお櫃がないので、ご飯のお代わりにスタッフをお願いしなくてはいけませんが、呼んでもなかなか来ません。佃煮やたらこ、辛いおかずがあるので結構皆さんお代わりされると思うんですよね。呼び鈴が鳴り続けていました。
