It was better than I imagined. A welcoming atmosphere was felt by many of the staff. In front of the sea, there was security right next to the beach chairs, so I was able to spend a relaxing time with peace of mind. The only disappointment was that the shower in the room only had cold water. There was hot water in the sink, but...

Hotellet levede ikke op til billederne, så blev lidt skuffet ved første øjekast. Men når man lige er landet i det, så fungerede det fint. Primært handlede det om rengøring, larmende klima-anlæg og det fremgik slidt (ku trænge til en kærlig hånd).
Men personalet var super flinke og imødekommende.

All that a really good african experience should be. Lovely ambience from stunning beach views with palm lined sands and plenty of grass covered canapied umbrellas.
The pool was crystal clean everyday and the food in the beach restaurant was amazing quality at really good prices. The breakfast was of high standard with plenty of choice everyday. There was different entertainment every night from african dancers and authentic drum players,to bands playing regiee music. The staff warmth and customer service was the best I have encountered in the 15 years I have been visiting the Gambia. Altogether a fantastic holiday experience

Though the venue was pretty and most of the staff really friendly/accommodating, I did not have a good time. One night at midnight, I was awoken by housekeeping trying to enter my room. Though reception apologised for a mix up, as a solo-traveller, who was also recovering from an illness, it put me on edge. I was also approached by one of the staff who tried to ask me out, which I didn't think was appropriate.

Beautiful complex right on the beach. Complex consists of 2 parts. One part is no longer managed. But that doesn't bother you. It's not a fancy hotel, but classic, down-to-earth. If you like that sort of thing, this is the right place. If you need more frills, this is the wrong hotel
