Kontokali Bay Resort & Spa

Friendly staff and nice hotel. Half-board buffet was good, but casual restaurant near beach was bit disappointing as you couldnt modify portions at all f.ex. add chicken on your salad etc.

Beautifully located hotel on by the sea with a private beach. The beach and pool areas were great with lots of beds and umbrellas if needed. Also, you can order f&b straight to your sunbed via an app :) The rooms are large and comfortable. The spa area was great (had it to myself!) and the massage and facial I experienced were both idyllic. You can also rent boats with or without a skipper from the hotel pier. I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff doesn’t seem knowledgeable. While I was doing my research on hotels I was told that this hotel had “watersports for teenagers” and a “games room for kids”. Well the watersports were for teens over the age of 18 and the “game room” was a filthy room with hockey table, indoors basketball game, and a vending machine with toys. Every game cost a Euro so you only got to play for two minutes. They also had a “free bus” into the Town of Corfu everyday but on the way back, the bus does not stop on the corner. It stops 5-6 buses back. We did not know this and missed the “free bus” back a couple of times costing me $25 Euros every time for a taxi. Lastly we purchased a necklace from the Dion store at the first level and the chain broke the 2nd time it was worn back home. Never going back to Corfu or this horrible dated over-expensive hotel. Even the beach was not great with horrible chairs that had a plastic foam covering that made it even hotter.

Returning to Kontokali for the 4th time feels like coming home, and I'm thrilled to report that this not so hidden, yet still haven in Corfu keeps getting better and better. The staff here are more than just friendly faces; they make you feel like part of their family. It's that genuine warmth that draws us back, and it seems they've mastered the art of making everone feel special. No need to mention any particular names here, each and everyone is a star. Our room was still an oasis of comfort and style, with a balcony that offered those breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea up to Corfu town. And they also mentioned they will be updating the decor for next year. The food game at Kontakali has always been strong, but this time, it reached new heights. The local flavors in each dish are a celebration of Greece's culinary scene. And let's not forget the super breakfasts, especially the ones by the sea. Remember that evening spritz by the pool with the mesmerizing bay view from my last review? Well, it's now a *****ni but still as priceless as ever. The ambiance, the drinks, the view – it's the kind of memory that stays with you. Kudos to all for evolving year by year, from the decor to the gardens and from all the lovely staff to the entertainment options. It is clear they take feedback to heart, making each stay an improvement on the last. Well done, and continue to impress us!
