Stanton Gaya Hotel

The front desk service was great! The facilities are comparable to a Home Inn, and it offers excellent value for money. It's also close to many popular local eateries. Overall, it's very good.

The hotel's location is excellent, right on Gaya Street. There are plenty of food options downstairs, and Sin Kee Bak Kut Teh is also just below. Many eateries are within walking distance. The hotel room is very spacious, much larger than I expected.

It's only a ten-minute walk to the DBKK ferry terminal, a five-minute walk to Suria Sabah, and you can reach Yap Kon Choon Tea House, bak kut teh, and other places within five minutes on foot.

The hotel has a good location, with a local market right outside on Friday and Saturday evenings. The room's cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The staff are excellent and helpful when possible, big thanks to them. The windows don't open. I was surprised to find the sink directly in the room. When showering, the water accumulates up to ankle-deep throughout the entire shower area; the slope to the drain wasn't well thought out.

This location is right near the entrance of Gaya Street, making it very convenient for eating nearby and going to the pier. Downstairs, there's a Hung Kim Restaurant, and their chicken wings are especially delicious.

Right downstairs is Sin Kee Bak Kut Teh, and there are tons of convenience stores around. Gaya Street Night Market is just on the next block, so the surrounding amenities are incredibly convenient! Suria Sabah Shopping Mall and money changers are also nearby. The hotel staff are really nice, it's just that the room is a bit small and there's basically no soundproofing 😆. You can hear people walking and talking in the hallway very clearly, but it's no problem for me as I'm a deep sleeper and can't be woken up easily 😆.

This was the first hotel we stayed at upon arriving in Kota Kinabalu, and the overall experience was fantastic! The transportation was incredibly convenient, and there were plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options right downstairs. The staff were friendly, warm, and provided meticulous and thoughtful service. After check-out, they even thoughtfully offered free luggage storage, which really solved a problem for us. The room was neat and clean, and the hygiene was excellent. It's definitely a worthwhile choice for anyone traveling to Kota Kinabalu!

The triple room was tiny! Soundproofing wasn't great, but the location is excellent. There's a restaurant downstairs, and it's very close to Gaya Street! The hotel reception staff were very nice and friendly.

The room was too small and the soundproofing was poor. Aside from the good location, I wouldn't recommend it.
