The Rubis

Location is bang on the main road in kottakkal town right next to bus stand. It has good parking facility. Hotel was welcoming and the checkin/checkout process was smooth. Its a big hotel but its an old one and hence require some maintenance. Otherwise, everything else inside the hotel was neat and clean. Room has all necessary services. I staid in an ac room and the ac was working well. I added breakfast as part of my booking and they provided limited options but good food as part of breakfast. They serve food till 10 pm in the-or restaurant and the price is nominal.

The rooms were good. Service was excellent, the location is also fantastic. Enough parking space was available. The staff are quite responsive.

Pros : 1) near to arya vidya sala, kottakkal (500m) 2) near to kottakkal bus stand 3) located on the main road. So easily accessible. 4) rooms are average and spacious. For the price, i was expecting more better rooms. 5) the breakfast was awesome. There were multiple options in buffet along-with tea, juices, etc. 6) the bathroom was decent with hot and cold water options. Cons : 1) the room windows didn't have mosquito nets. The windows were old style. 2) the latch for main door was old style, not very safe. They should improve on this. 3) had dinner which was too oily. Need to improve here. Recommend to use hotel lunch / dinner only because the options outside are not that great specially for vegetarians. 4) the wifi network was very poor. I could hardly connect to it. Needs to be improved.

We came from tirur to kottakkal and dropped in the ruby hotel which was at a good location near to kottakkal arya vedya shala. Hotel was a big one but again not maintained properly need maintenance and cleanliness
