Kottayam Hotels with Airport pickup service

Taj Kumarakom stay for 3 nights was excellent and every service was far beyond our expectations. The food at the restaurants was the best we have ever had in South Indian cuisine, thanks to Chef Manoj Pandey, Vipin ( F&B ) and Suresh. GM Mayank, Front office Manager Noel and Priya & Gayathri were excellent to help us with a beautiful tranquil stay Vishnu at the swimming pool was very alert and helpful. We were in Room 18 ( famous East facing room villa ) was super good and the lovely Walks to the Lake Vembanad was so fresh and subtle breeze. Priya from the front desk helped us with all our daily needs and she made sure that everything was perfect Thanks so much Taj Kumarakom. We will be back

This place clearly is past its prime from the looks of it. Our Deluxe Lagoon view room is past its ‘best by’ date. The furniture is fraying, the mirror has big stains, the room had a stink when we checked in, the aircon works only at one setting - 19 degrees. The woodwork has been shoddily repaired, the glass door has turned yellow with grime. The maintenance and upkeep of the property evidently de***ds serious attention. Sadly, when I attempted to show some pictures of the room to the ***agement, it barely caused any concern. I was informed that the extended Covid lockdown - and the tropical climate and moist air, has taken a huge toll on the property. In other words, we really can’t do much! However, supposedly a revamp of the property is underway - doesn’t help us though. While the explanation maybe valid, the nonchalant response was galling and totally unexpected. And any way, why shouldn’t we, as paying guests, expect better? At breakfast this morning, the papaya was un-ripened, the pineapple was overripe and discoloured. And the best. - they couldn’t find decent, fresh and ripe local bananas to serve! At lunch, the Thai green curry was spicy - so spicy and none of us four could eat more than one spoon. We refused to eat it and asked them to take it back. Yet amazingly, it appeared on our bill - no apologies offered. Naturally, we refused to pay for the dish. Quite eventful first 24 hours.

The hotel and the entire surroundings are truly beautiful: without a doubt, the most beautiful and pleasant accommodation I have ever stayed in. The exuberant nature, the squirrels that run through the gardens, the multiple types of birds, the sunset cruise on the lake, and other activities make the stay a wonderful experience. The stay becomes even more rounded and spiritual by doing yoga and meditation with Professor Naveen, a true wise *** with whom we share some advice, philosophy and book recommendations. For sure we will repeat this excellent hotel. Thank you all for your hospitality! :)

nice place for a quiet stay by the banks of kumarakom backwaters.it would be nice if you could go with family as there are only four rooms and it could be occupied by the same group of people. rooms are spacious with a good clean toilet. food is also good with inhouse kitchen and a nice cook. as its literally on the banks you could enjoy the backwaters. no pool, but if you know swimming can explore the backwaters itself as the water height is about 5 ft for about 5mtrs near the banks. in house activities could have been better as its a small property with limited space for any exploration. its also very near to house boat jetty, bird sanctuary and main roads.

Amazing location. Huge property. Neat and clean. Rooms were spacious. Anytime access swimming pool. Huge parking space. Just by the lake. Good morning sunrise view. On request, a staff also cleaned my car for my onward trip. High five to Rinu and all other staffs. Very courteous. Quick suggestions... food can be better.
