We had an amazing experience. Rooms were very clean and cozy, nice pool and well maintained grounds, overall a very welcoming ambience. The highlight of my trip was the food which was delicious and extremely flavourful. I can't even begin to describe the desserts....so delicious. A big thank you to Ashnil Mara staff and by extension Boniface Kimeu who gave us excellent service the entire weekend. Kudos

We loved our stay at the Ashnil Mara Camp. The facilities were great and the customer service was amazing! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and they packed us a lot for our breakfast boxes. It was the ideal place to stay when visiting the Mara.

Our family had a great time and wonderful experience at this lodge! Their website and pictures need to be updated, because everything looks much better in person. I was a little nervous since I think it is classified as a 3 star lodge, but from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, we were extremely impressed by the grounds, food, tent lodging, and the 5 star friendly customer service. The restaurant area and lounge area by the river would be a very nice and a great setting, even if it wasn't right next to the river with hippos within eyesight and earshot. The "tents" are very nice on the inside, shower/bathrooms are high quality, and beds super comfortable. We loved using the pool after long game drives. We wish we would have spent more nights here, and less nights at another lodge that is classified as a 5 star.

The staff's smiles, location, food, and cocktails are wonderful. I was welcomed like family. It took me 24 hours to get here from Japan, but I would like to stay again. I don't want to praise it too much because it will become even more popular and the next fee will rise. Not only the rooms, but also the outdoor terrace, terrace beds and chairs, pool water, rooms, towels, and toilets are all clean. There are some bugs, but there were no flies on the food in the restaurant. I get the impression that they pay attention to hygiene. There are few drawbacks. I'm writing this because it would be a problem if it becomes too popular. There is no phone, so you have to walk to the front desk every time you need to borrow something. Some people may find it a little far. However, rooms that are too close to the lobby may be noisy with passersby returning to their rooms. When I closed the safe according to the instructions, it would no longer open because the previous person's number was still there (the staff fixed it for me). There may be rooms that require some skill to lock. There was a power outage at dawn. The hot water bottle leaked. It can be charged, but not quickly. There are too many good points to write about. The souvenir shop has reasonable prices. The staff is very kind and doesn't try to sell you anything. I was able to take my time choosing until I found my favorite. The laundry and cocktails are both reasonably priced. The room doesn't have air conditioning, but it's cool and breezy because it's a double-roofed tent, so I was able to take a comfortable nap even when it was hot outside. There were many animals nearby. I was able to see a large group of lions, baby lions, and cheetah brothers. It's far from the airport in Nairobi and close to the Tanzanian border. If you like borders, please request it. As soon as we left the gate, a giraffe was lying in wait. In the evening, I saw fireflies flying on the way back to the room from the lobby. There were also water bucks on the opposite bank of the river. I was happy. On the last day, we left at 4:30 in the morning for a hot air balloon. The location was near Fig Tree Camp. There is no accounting staff early in the morning, so we have to check out the night before. We checked out after dinner, but in the morning, we found out that the charge for drinks at the last dinner was not included. The credit card machine was not working because it was early in the morning, and I was confused because they said they didn't have any change for large bills (I asked them firmly and they provided some change). On the way to Fig Tree Camp, we saw many hyenas and jackals, as if we were at a night safari. My husband, son and daughter are shy, but they learned Swahili and Maa from Moses and Kimpai and had a great time. They also learned Swahili songs and sang them. Kenya and Japan are far apart, but I am grateful for the heartwarming exchange we had. Thank you very much.

The setting is magnificent, the decoration tasteful. The a**osphere is calm and relaxed. The best point is the service: a staff always smiling and ready to please. Special mention for Chris, Boni and Kennedy who accompanied us throughout our stay, for our greatest pleasure! Thank you very much to the Masai Mara for having done everything possible to organize our engagement proposal… a perfect moment that will remain memorable!

A camp that makes you happy thanks to its unique location right in the national park, its beautiful grounds, delicious food, but above all thanks to its fantastic staff. The boundless hospitality of Joseph, Boni, Peter and many others was heartwarming. The special charm of the camp made it easy to overlook any minor imperfections. Asante Sana - thank you!

Beautiful comfortable tents, view of garden or Mara river from tent's outdoor seating. Early morning walk around the hotel is delightful, birds and trees coverage. Restaurant manager Morris and his team are warm and friendly. Thanks so much for taking care of us and giving us a memorable holiday.

We’ve stayed in a number of bush/jungle/outback/desert lodges but this is without doubt the best. Perfectly located for exciting game drives in the Mara. The rooms are only tents in the sense that the roof is canvas. Our room had 3 4 poster beds ( there were 2 of us) , separate toilet , shower and also an ante room in the bathroom with mirror, safe , hairdryer etc this was incredibly useful. Our terrace overlooked the Mara river with a table, chais and day a bed. We could clearly hear hippos and had really cute bush bucks visit us regularly. The room also has a fan. Some of the tents are quite a walk from the main building, but we were right adjacent. There is a lovely turn down service in the early evening when the mosquito nets are deployed, lights turned on and hot water bottles placed in the beds. 5 bottles of water provided per day , water in shower is lovely and hot . The only minor quibble is no WiFi in room -only in bar & restaurant. The service culture , as it is throughout Kenya , is magnificent and the Ashnil stands out here. The food is superb at both breakfast and dinner and the staff group are most thoughtful marking birthdays in memorable ways The service from Fred and Nicholas in the bar was very good ,and Kennedy in the restaurant was so attentive and catered to our groups every need including organising the correct sized tables, reserving them for us and even having our favourite wine ready on ice before we’d even got there. All this is overseen by Morris the restaurant manager who is constantly checking all is ok. All the food is great , I particularly liked the curries, pickles and fresh chapattis, followed by an excellent cheeseboard. Hippos and crocs can be seen from the bar terrace . We were too busy to use the pool but we’re told it was lovely. Also a very nice, reasonably priced gift shop with marked prices , a real bonus in Kenya , meaning no haggling! I could go on , but basically this was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in one of the best countries we’ve ever visited.
