We had a very pleasant stay for two night at the Porto Sofie. An authentic and unique hotel in a small beautiful area / town in Switzerland. As the hotel is in an old house the rooms do not have air conditioning which can be very difficult it they did have a good fan in our room which helped a lot. We had the junior suite as we where a family of three including a teenage son and the room was tight but had it been for just a couple it would have been perfect. We had dinner at the restaurant both evenings and the meals where fantastic as well was the service. Definitely give the hotel by recommendation especially for couples as it seems like a great romantic getaway.

The hotel is in an amazing historic building in the traditional style of the region. It is right on the river (Seerhein) by the Gottlieben stop of the Konstanz - Schaffhausen boat Service. The restaurant is on a terrace right above the water with a nature reserve opposite. Good at the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was served on the terrace below and included local specialities.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The place is quiet at night.
There is a small lido nearby where we went swimming in the Rhine.
There are several cafes and other excellent restaurants in Gottlieben apart from this hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back after the extensive renovation planned for October 2021 to about 2023

Super gelegenes Hotel, etwas gar altertümlich eigerichtet, hat aber seinen Charme, das super Frühstück war nicht im Preis inbegriffen und somit etwas gar teuer.

On est arrivés à Gottlieben pour y prendre le repas un vendredi soir mais nous n'y avons pas séjourné. Beaucoup de monde sur la terrasse du Waaghaus, l'endroit a l'air réputé. Par chance, on nous trouve de la place, le personnel est très attentionné. On aime beaucoup la déco du resto qui sort vraiment de l'ordinaire. Côté cuisine, on a voulu goûter une soupe de poissons et un ceviche. La soupe était bonne mais sans plus; par contre, le ceviche était délicieux, avec du poisson extra frais et des petites purées froides de légumes. Très jolie déco dans l'assiette également. Mais il y a vraiment peu. Le dessert (cheesecacke) était bon mais pas non plus extraordinaire. Un peu dommage car les prix sont assez élevés. En bref, un endroit magique, une cuisine moderne, et en prime, un magnifique coucher de soleil!
