Amazing
SSerene_lanAs the first person to write a review, I have to praise this hotel. It was my first business trip to Kuching, and this hotel suddenly appeared on the 18th. There were no reviews, which made me worried I might have a bad experience. I checked online and found it was part of the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) group, and it was a renovated older hotel. After checking in, I felt it was incredibly good value for the price. The hotel's decor was grand and unique, with a youthful and stylish design. Many corners featured thoughtfully placed furniture and artwork. The facilities were excellent. Because the hotel is new, every corner of the room was spotless. As someone who travels frequently for business, I'm very particular about hotel cleanliness, and this hotel truly didn't disappoint. The front desk staff were very polite and welcoming. The bedding was very comfortable and soft, and I slept very well. The bathrobes were also of high quality, the towels were clean, and the toiletries smelled wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices, and I heard the dinner was also good. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. Before this, I was torn between two other five-star hotels in Kuching, but after this comparison, I won't have to worry about choosing another one. Voco just opened on June 18th, and I still feel a slight smell of renovation. It gets better after turning on the air conditioning and ventilating. If you mind the smell of renovation, you can move in after September; I think the smell should dissipate by then. It's only about a 10-minute walk from the airport, and it's also about a 10-minute walk to popular spots like the Seaside Plaza. The location is very convenient. If I come here for business again, I will definitely choose this place without hesitation.

GGuest UserI rarely leave comments, but after this trip, I feel the need to do so—overall, it was quite disappointing. This morning at breakfast, I found a dead mosquito on my plate and requested a replacement. However, the plate was returned to me, and it appeared to be the same one, with a mosquito leg still on it (I didn’t manage to take a photo). I’ve included another photo showing a cockroach leg in the room, which reflects my concern about the overall cleanliness. Service was also lacking. There was no proper introduction to the resort upon arrival. When we asked a staff member how to get to the beach, they simply nodded without giving any directions or confirming if access was allowed. We had to find our own way, which is not acceptable given the price point. That said, the room itself was excellent, especially the décor and the bathroom. However, for the mangrove room, be prepared for a noticeable (and somewhat unpleasant) mangrove smell, which makes the balcony less enjoyable.

GGuest UserTo best describe this place, it's like a mini paradise atop a cliff overlooking the beautiful sea, with a twist of staying in large cylindrical concert culverts. You can easily spot it along the road to Damai with its large circular logo at its gate. It was closed upon my arrival at 3pm, but due to the main entrance being easily seen from the receptionist area, it didn't take long for them to open the gate, and I just drove right in. The receptionist was very polite and welcoming, decently professional as well, after checking us in we were given a quick tour around, highlighting the facilities and public areas. The room itself, being quite quirky in its own way, isn't too difficult to maneuver around, as long as you don't rush yourself and knock yourself around the relatively tiny room. Adequate steps are built to help climbing up and moving around, with simple storage spots around the bed, which by itself takes up about half of the room. The other side of the room is the bathing area, which I would say is surprisingly spacious enough to use. So a bed and a bathing area sums up the entire, unique cylindrical room. The hotel itself is nicely planned, guests can pamper themselves by picking their favorite spots located around the place, and enjoy a marvelous view of the sea. There's also a small private beach all the way down the cliff too. Facilities include swimming pools, sauna room, washer + dryer machines, gymnasium, library, etc. are pretty neat if you need them. I would say the place is great for couples, and a short refresher trip. I technically live in the city just half an hour drive away, but to catch a break from work and relax here for a day, I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat. Just make sure you've got the legs to climb up and down the place!

GGuest UserThere was an issue with the air conditioner. Other than that, everything was good, but some rooms didn’t have a hair dryer or a fridge. However, I was impressed because the maintenance team asked if I wanted to change rooms and directly contacted the receptionist, who immediately allowed us to do so.

GGuest UserThis is a classic older hotel. The biggest highlight is definitely the great views and relaxing atmosphere, especially the balcony area which is very comfortable and offers excellent scenery. We stayed in a triple room. The room itself felt quite old, and the facilities clearly showed their age. As for cleanliness, it was a case of 'looks okay on the surface, but the details are lacking.' For instance, there were some less-than-clean marks on the sheets, and while the towels had clearly been washed, their dark color wasn't ideal. The bathroom's cleanliness was also just average; not overtly dirty, but not meticulously clean either. Overall, the hotel's strong points are its views and location. However, there's room for improvement regarding the room's hardware and the detailed cleanliness. It's best suited for guests who prioritize scenic views and are less sensitive about the age of the accommodations.

WWilson CcGreat location, convenient for getting anywhere. Plenty of food options downstairs. The self check-in process was clear, and both the room and bathroom were clean. The water pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable shower. If I had to nitpick, the room size was a bit small, but it's not a huge issue for an overnight stay. Definitely recommend.

NNeha TanThe location is still ok because there is a mall so if you want to eat or buy things you are still happy, but if you want to go to the waterfront, it takes 25 minutes, in front of the apartment there is also an everise, but yesterday we ordered the 2 bedroom one, 13th floor, the funny thing is that the wifi we use is the hotel wifi so it's a bit slow, there's no soap in the room, he said Sinad, it's just not available, finally he was told to deliver it, there wasn't even an iron, when I checked out I asked, he said he wanted to chat then it would be delivered hadeh🤧, even though when he arrived there was no response to the chat, it was annoying Plus, if you want to use the washing machine, you have to rent it for 35 RM a night👎, that should be the facility we get when we rent an apartment, I live in another apartment, even though the washing machine isn't in the room, it's kept downstairs, if we use it, it's free. Why do you have to pay for this? , 200 rm deposit, 37 rm in cash, they said it was clean, the apartment wasn't the same, don't know, other floors, other owners, the same or not
