Rahaa Resort Maldives

My wife and I have just completed a stay at this fabulous resort - what a find! This is in our view just how the Maldives should be, *****ped back, a little rustic with all of the essentials perfectly in place. Rahaa like most of the Maldives enjoys a stunning location in the Indian Ocean, but where this resort differs and stands out is the manner in which the natural beauty and charm of the island has remained steadfastly in place; as a consequence the nature and wildlife habitats are as they have been for time immemorial. This does not have the glitz and glamour of other resorts and has remained true to its’ roots. The rooms are all air conditioned, spacious and delightful, the restaurant offerings are just perfect, again staying true with Maldivian cuisine together with themed evenings encompassing meals from the Mediterranean, India, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Indonesia - Truly something for everybody and all absolutely delicious. The bar staff under the watchful eye of the ever helpful Islam are caring and attentive as it must be said are all of the team members who always stop whatever they are doing and meet you with heartfelt and genuine greetings which is a real pleasure. The diving team whilst being comparatively young in age were all consummate professionals and a real credit to both Rahaa and PADI, I enjoyed some great times with them. The Rahaa CEO was on site together with the General Manager for our stay and it is refreshing to hear their future vision for the resort is to continue very much in the same vein and in doing so make The Maldives more accessible for both new and returning clients. A real gem, thank you so much for a fabulous experience!

Had an amazing time people and workers were lovely ! The rooms were super clean! Food was lovely especially the fish 🐟! They done a world food to cover some countries and nationalities which had a great variety! The rooms were spacious, clean with air com that worked really well kept the room cool and at a comfortable temperature. We had a villa facing the lagoon with breathtaking views and sunsets 🌅 There was an amazing outdoor bathroom which was really individual and out of the ordinary! The provided great fishing tours and even have the fish you caught cooked for you at the resort. They provide free snorkelling around the coral and the turtle one you normally pay for! We had a nice romantic dinner by the palm trees facing the sea 🌊 the workers were great but in particular Brandon he was a super host bubbly and interacting a lot with guests. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the island he was lovely and welcoming. The island itself was amazing! A beautiful resort island that takes you back to the basics of sun, sea, and sand. If you want a holiday where you switch off completely this resort island is for you! It opened in 2019 but was then hit by Covid lockdown and has now started to recover. This resort is lovely and quiet The room interior was some of the nicest we’ve stayed in the Maldives - modern and kept extremely clean. Rooms have a partial outdoor bathroom and a lagoon or partial ocean view. Rooms with an ocean view are set back behind trees/plants. Rooms with a lagoon/lake view are set back slightly but without an obscured view. We enjoyed the lagoon view and quietness of these rooms. The staff did their best re service, but it is quite relaxed. Hints and tips: General: Take water shoes - there is broken coral and crushed shells on entry to the sea. Take high factor suncream (50*+) and plenty of it. It is $25 for a small tube from the resort otherwise. Take mosquito repellent if you are prone to being bitten - the island is fogged twice daily but it doesn’t get ride of all the little blighters. Water activities: The island is protected and surrounded by a huge lagoon that is shallow, interspersed with coral. There is no pool. The lagoon is safe to swim in with hardly any waves but there is an undercurrent so best to be a swimmer. There are masks, snorkels and fins that are free to use for up to 2 hours each day and a good selection. There are free snorkelling trips (a 5 mins boat ride away) at 0900 and 1400 hrs every day. There is a single kayak for use. There are two surfboards with paddles to use - these are not stand up paddle boards and the paddles are not long enough to use standing up. There are other boat trips available at cost. (Around $60pp upwards) There is a PADI dive school owned by the resort. Flights and luggage: If your return flight from Male is the morning you will have to leave Rahaa resort around 4.20am for the boat ride and internal flight. (Internal flights are limited to four per day). Your internal flight is to and from Kadhdhoo island (a local island and air base). The speedboat transfer is approx 30 mins. You can only take 20kg hold luggage onto the internal flight and 5kg hand luggage, (regardless of your international flight allowance). You cannot purchase an additional bag. You will be charged a surplus cost per kg. Any additional luggage may also not arrive on the same flight with you due to the plane needing to be weighted correctly. All inclusive. The AI package is ample for drinks and good food. If you are looking for a European or 4* type All Inclusive holiday then look elsewhere. What you get is a choice of 4 dishes each day plus rice. and potatoes, noodles or spaghetti and a single fresh chef station. There are vegetarian options but it’s limited. There is some fresh fruit, but limited. There is a choice of 5 cocktails on AI, others are available at cost. There are local spirits on AI, branded are available at cost

This island is a must visit! It is absolutely stunning and the staff are amazing, they are so pleasant and can’t do enough for you. This was a superb holiday. The food was delicious, the drinks menu was brilliant, especially loved the “madras” cocktail and loved the little touches like “ice cream happy hour”. Little things like that I think go a long way on a holiday. Big shout out to Brando too. He made our stay absolutely brilliant and loved the “DJ night”. Everyone was up dancing just enjoying themselves and that is what a holiday should be like. Can’t wait to return next year 😊 xxxxx

From the moment we landed at Male airport we were greeted by Rahaa staff who looked after us and helped with the domestic flight and the speedboat transfer to the island. On arrival we was greeted with cocktails and the restaurant remained open for us for our arrival, the food is great and there are plenty of choices. We had a beach view villa , the room was very large and clean and couldn’t have asked for more. The rooms are cleaned daily and a turndown service is provided each evening. The staff are exceptional , very hard working and are there for your every need, the beaches are cleaned every morning and sometimes evening to make sure you wake up with clean white sand, as sea**** and some coral does come onto the beach, this did not impact our holiday as this is just a natural occurrence and they worked hard to ensure this is kept clean everyday. I would like to thank Dhanu who is in the bar !! What an amazing young man he is !! He looked after us every day and night he is an absolutely amazing human x and would like to thank him especially! I must also recognise all the restaurant staff and the chefs they are great and look after you extremely well. Brando took us out on some of the reef trips we had an amazing time, Brando was great and very knowledgeable about the coral and sea life thank you Brando. We had a massage in the SPA which was great. The management team looked after us and made sure we enjoyed our stay. some nights in the bar there was a DJ and we danced on the beach and some nights great fun, we had a singer in the bar he is great !! What an amazing two weeks spent there and we are looking forward to seeing all the plans they have in store for the future there! We will definitely go back to to see everything they have planned for the next year So a BIG thank you to you all you made out time there very memorable x

We were there for my partner's birthday, and the stay didn't start with a pleasent surprise, on the contrary. When we arrived to our room, there was a welcome card waiting for us, but it completely two different names, no mistype, completly different names. Food&Drinks - Completely Unacceptable The buffet and the seating area, look like you are in a small countryside town in Eastern Europe. If you want fruits, you have just 2 options, breakfast (only 2 or 3 types) or ordering room service (for an extra fee), most of the fruits you find, are the fake fruits on display, which is comical. The meat is usually undercooked, by the European standards. The “Chorizo” is not a chorizo, just some cheap salami and the cheese is bad as well. The salt and pepper recipients are literally unusable, their holes are thin, the salt itself is not fine and there's obviously a lot of humidity, which makes it a "perfect" combination. Deserts are joke, just some sugary things, they do have custards or puddings, which are not kept in a fridge or anything, so they melt in like 5 minutes after they bring them. There are no chilled/cold drinks, only iced drinks, the ice has a funny taste as well, and obviously, being in a very warm environment, a warm fizzy drink to which you add ice, melts the ice in a matter of a couple of minutes, so, no more bubbles. You can get pizzas at the beach bar, but one costs 25USD plus service charge and GST. Facilities The Wi-Fi reception is usually good, but the Internet works either very slow, or not at all, which is due to not enough bandwidth to accommodate everyone. The tennis table is in the bar, where is very dark, so in the evening you can't play, as there's no light there, besides the pool table light. The GYM is another bad joke. A small room, 2 bikes, 1 treadmill, 1 bench, and some weights all in a small room. After the first 2 days, we were completly shocked, and didn't want to take the chance of paying for a SPA massage, after we've seen the other conditions here. Beach & Water The beaches are alright. When there's a low tide, they are full of small smashed coral pieces, not the fine sand you see everywhere online, but that's only until the high tide. The Lagoon beach especially is full of hard coral, which has only been cleaned once during our 6 nights stay, which is really disappointing, in other places we've visited this would happen once a day. The water is amazing, both the Lagoon and the Ocean itself. Birthday On my partner's birthday, they've made birthday cake, a very nice gesture but the cake is as the other Deserts. There was a a bed arrangement waiting for us in the bedroom, which one of the best things about our stay, as it was really very nice, and I believe it took the staff quite an effort to make, we were really impressed and thank you to the 2 guys that did it. Other points There is a House Reef Snorkeling trip, which is free, but keep in mind that it's not safe for kids or beginners. The jump point where
