Located in shopping belt though few tram stops away fm main JR train station. Receptionist promptly handed over an extra pillow when requested. Room layout compact, water pressure fine while sink is along room corridor. Have real views to look out of window! However smell abit of chlorine after soaking in hotel’s public bath so not sure what water was that… Will stay again if revisit :)

Not bad, location is central (close to the main attraction of Kumamoto Castle). The soundproofing is poor though, got woken up at 5am by next door's vibrating phone/people coughing.

I had a really nice stay at REF Kumamoto by VESSEL HOTELS. The room was clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. The location was convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole place felt relaxed and well kept. I’d definitely stay here again.

Right on a lively street, it's great! Perfect for a stroll or doing anything else. There's also a constant flow of people. Games, snacks, izakayas, and a convenience store are all downstairs. The service is also very sweet.

The hot spring was fantastic! Outdoor and open-air, plus free popsicles. Only one pillow in the room though, that's a thumbs down.
