Stayed at Nest Hotel Kumamoto during our trip and had a really comfortable stay. The location is very convenient, very near to the city centre with only around 10 minutes walking distance to the shopping street and nearby station.
There’s also a vending machine at the lobby which is super convenient for late night drinks and snacks. Right opposite the hotel there is a big mall, so it’s easy to find food, shopping, and daily necessities. Luckily during our stay, there was also a taiwan food fair happening nearby which made the atmosphere even more lively and interesting.
The room was clean, comfortable, and suitable for travelers looking for a convenient place to stay in Kumamoto. Staff check-in process was smooth as well.
Overall, great location and comfortable stay. 9/10 ⭐️

The breakfast was perfect. Workers were polite.
BUT the room was moldy, smelled bad, disgusting. The picture can't show how disgusting it was.. it almost looks clean on my pictures sorry. It was really worst
I asked for a better room that was actually better but still not good enough.
Respect yourself and your health choose another hotel.

Having lived in Japan for over ten years, I have to commend this hotel. It far exceeded my expectations.
1. Right outside the door is the largest local bus terminal, making it incredibly convenient to get to the airport, Aso, Amakusa, and Fukuoka.
2. The price is half or even less than half of surrounding hotels. I originally had no expectations, thinking it would just be a cheap place to crash.
3. While the hallway decor looks a bit dated, it perfectly aligns with the MUJI団地 (housing complex) design philosophy. You even use a traditional key to open the door.
4. Although the room has an old-style Japanese business hotel decor, it's exceptionally clean and very spacious. The room design is well-thought-out, making it comfortable and secure to use.
5. Both check-in and check-out at the front desk were handled with meticulous care and polite, professional service. This is something even much more expensive hotels I've stayed at elsewhere often fail to deliver.
6. I stayed here for five consecutive nights and had a great experience. I would definitely choose this hotel again for future family trips.

The hotel's location is right next to the bus terminal, and it's about a 10-minute walk to Kumamoto Castle. There were mold and spiders in our room, so we asked to have it changed. The staff were friendly and helped us. Whilst the new room was still not the cleanest. It did the job. Wouldn't stay here again though.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to Sakuramachi bus station and the shopping street. It's budget-friendly, and the rooms are clean, tidy, spacious, and equipped with new and complete facilities – a perfect choice for solo travelers. Pros: Great location, super close to Sakuramachi bus terminal, making transfers really convenient. The front desk staff were also excellent. When I asked about sending my luggage to my next hotel, they took my next hotel reservation, handled everything themselves – contacting the next hotel and even filling out the shipping form for me.
Cons: The facilities are quite old. The water boiler is just a small stainless steel cup that you heat up – it's tiny and seems unsafe, I can't understand why they haven't upgraded it. Breakfast was also mediocre; all the fruit was canned.
