Kumamoto Washington Hotel Plaza

The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw from the Shitamachi shopping street. It's super convenient for buying cosmetics and going to Don Quijote, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The staff are also friendly, and the price is reasonable. Highly recommended!

From the moment I checked in until I checked out, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They greeted me every time we crossed paths, and on the morning of my second day, they even called to ask if I wanted my room cleaned. I asked for just extra towels instead of a full cleaning, and they happily provided them. When I needed to use the washing machine but only had a 500 yen coin, they gladly exchanged it for 100 yen coins without any fuss. The hotel's location is fantastic – literally a minute's walk from the arcade shopping street. There are plenty of great restaurants and izakayas nearby, and both Sakuramachi and Kumamoto Castle are within walking distance, which was a huge plus. The room itself was the perfect size for one person, so I'd definitely consider staying here again if I travel solo. I didn't use the public bath because of my tattoos (I didn't ask if it was allowed), but the bathtub in my room was great for a relaxing soak. There are also two convenience stores right in front of the hotel, perfect for grabbing snacks.

I've lost count of how many times I've stayed here... it's just so good! The location, cleanliness, and the public bath – everything is perfect. I'll definitely stay here again if I visit Kumamoto in the future.

Traveling in Kyushu, Japan, I stayed in Kumamoto for two nights in a twin room. The room layout was well-designed, allowing us to open two suitcases comfortably. The room was fully equipped, clean, and tidy.

I traveled around Kumamoto Prefecture by car. The hotel offered excellent parking facilities, and the staff were incredibly friendly, providing useful local information. From check-in to check-out, the front desk handled everything smoothly and courteously, making it a truly dependable hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. While the view from the window wasn't anything special, the quality of the hotel's services more than made up for it. The complimentary drink service after using the hot spring and the curry rice were absolutely perfect. This is definitely a place I'd love to revisit.
