"This stay is within the KL national park. So to get to the reception you will need to pay for thr entrance fee to the park. My intention was to stay for one night before going back to town. This place is meant for hikers who stay for the night to prepare themselves for the climb up to kk peak The floor Is wooden and when people walks , there are lots of noise. So if you are expecting a good quiet rest, probably it's not a good place for you. People get up very early to climb, so expect another of chatters. In short, good place for hikers but not for thr ordinary people expecting a proper stay"

"Friendly reception and very helpful booking staff. Great service at front office. Smooth check in and check out. House keeping staff so far has been smooth. Room is clean but exterior/interior need to do some maintenance. Food is simple and delicious. Exterior and interior need to upgrade and required maintenance work. Garden and surrounding area required some work to keep up with time. I see potential of the inn but need to keep up with current demands. Nevertheless, it's peaceful and calming place. Hopefully the management improve it the exterior/interior look of it."

"July 2024 TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience. Long: This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time. Undesirable / Cons: -No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though -No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least) -No tv, no fan but cold in general -Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper. -Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example. -It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room Desirable / Pros: -Big room. Not smelly -Is cement board floor -Big single beds. Not smelly -Clean bed. Fluffy cover. -Water heater is working for family room at least -Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around. -Has a table and chairs in room -Lots of electrical port -Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz -Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel -Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito. p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. 😂 p.s.s. I saw a greater coucal gliding into the forest in the morning!"

"Our stay here was absolutely magical! The weather was perfect—chilly and pleasant, with a nice breeze. Since we’re used to hot weather, it was like a dream come true. The reception area was huge and right next to it was a great restaurant that served delicious Nasi Goreng. There were plenty of parking spaces, and the resort itself was clean and well-maintained. The view was incredible! From our room on the Kinabalu Wing, we could see the majestic Mount Kinabalu. It was breathtaking! Just a heads up, the dirt and stone road leading to the resort is about 2.2 km long, and if you’re not used to it, it might be a bit bumpy. If you’re coming here for the first time, it’s best to arrive before dark. I’m definitely going back here again! Maybe next time, I’ll have a barbecue under the stars of Kinabalu. That would be epic!"

"We have a wonderful stayed in the resort. The room was cosy and quiet come with balcony. Convenient location near major attractions. Our room was located at the top floor next to the parking lot with stunning mountain view. Friendly and helpful staff."

"H Benjamin is located in a quieter area, up a steep slope and away from the city's hustle and bustle. It's a beautiful area to wake up to the mountains and would be a wonderful spot if it makes a few improvements to the space and amenities. 1) The spring bed is terribly firm, you can also feel the springs through the bed. The clothes rack was also almost going to fall apart. 2) The ventilator was not working so the moisture of the toilet came into the room instead, making it very moist. 3) The water kettle we were provided almost caught fire as smoke was coming out of the plug. Thankfully we caught it in time. When we reported this to the reception and asked if they want to get someone to check, we only got an ”Ok”. Perhaps it's a language barrier but it wasn't reassuring that the next traveller would be safe. 4) It would be nice to provide at least one chair in the room. It'll also be nice to have a seating area outside of the container cabin so people can enjoy the view of the mountains."

"Its quite a nice location to see the Mount Kinabalu in the early morning. But please concern on the road to the property is not so good. Highly recommend to reach there before 6pm as the sky went dark early. Have hot water prepared for shower but the water basin there didn't have. It's feeezing when washing hands and face. Check in check out is smooth btw. Also, the staffs that communicated with are nice."
