La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kyle - Austin South

Found one bed bug on night 2 after they put "clean sheets" in. Plus, a huge bug in the sink that we had to kill. This resulted in us sleeping in our rental car for the last night. The staff was friendly but the place smelt disgusting and the elevator was always out of service. The elevator wouldn't be a normal complaint of mine if the place was at least clean. Bugs and dirt everywhere in the room are unacceptable. I would suggest paying more money to stay somewhere that is at least clean if you are traveling from out of state....

We stayed there to attend event in Austin, and got a two room suite, as we had our adult son staying with us. ACCESS: *While this is not the fault of the property, it was hard to get to while going southbound on I-35, as we had to go through a neighborhood to get to it, due to the road design. OUTSIDE: *The parking lot was falling apart, and there was exposed rebar. INSIDE HOTEL: *The halls were dirty. BATHROOM ISSUES: *No bathroom mirror *The door from the hall into the bathroom would not secure. *Had to fight with the tub drain to keep it open, so the shower would not fill up with water. *There were only a couple towels and no washcloths *There were no toiletries. ROOM: *Room mirror was not mounted and just leaning against the wall. *Found long hairs on the couch, that were definitely not ours. UPON LEAVING: We informed the desk clerk when about the problems, who wrote them down, but seemed like they were not really concerned.. When I advised that there was no bathroom mirror, they responded “yeah, we know”……..so why would you rent a room like that. The next night, we were in San Antonio and stayed at a similar property, that we have stay at regularly, and the difference was IMMENSE, and not comparable.

The location is good, but very pricey for what it offers. Our room was the worst! According to the online check in, it was the last available, but the restroom was clogged. The phone didn't work and the fridge was broken. The ice machines weren't working either. We tried to get a hold of someone to help, but no one was available. It was a good thing that it was a short stay and we only went to sleep.

Not safe overpriced and dirty

Complimentary breakfast including unlimited coffee was very much appreciated. Staff was delightful!

Good value

First night was good, but flooring was coming up in bathroom. Second night, elevator was down. We got ambushed by a bat on the 3rd floor. Scared my 5 and 2 year old granddaughters. Elevator down the next morning again. The breakfast and the lady who handled all of that were very good. Lady, failed to get her name, was the best I have experienced in a hotel. I gave her kudos to the manager.

We were assigned a room with no mirror in the bathroom. Elevator had a problem.
