I would give 11/10 if I can. This is a honest review. This is by far the best hotel I stayed in my life. This onsen hotel is run by an elder man with his wife. 1. The hospitality was amazing where the owner fetch me from station to the hotel and drop me off once I checked out. 2. Hotel was clean and mixed with modern and Japanese style room. 3. Onsen was perfect for me and my wife for relaxation. 4. The owner speaks good English which easy to communicate. 5. The best part was the dinner and breakfast provided. Dinner was a 10 course meal which blows my mind. Even the omakase that i had before was nothing compared to the dinner. The food presentation was second to none. The dinner was very filling and delicious. Breakfast was alot too. Please come hungry. 6. I find that the price of this onsen is considered cheap as compared to many other options in Kyoto. Other places would costs around 3 to 4k MYR. 7. Finally, I would say this is a very good value for money if you would want a nice onsen and delicious food for your holiday. Thank you to the Owner for everything. And I would recommend to all my friends and family if they were come to Kyoto

Had a good stay at Kitashirakawa. The food was very delicious and the onsen was energising. The owner was polite and hospitable. The bus journey from kyoto station to vacation home was about 40 min. It was just 30 m away from Jizodani bus stop.

The best hotel I have even seen🥹 100% sure I will visit again. For location, it is a little bit far from the city but you can request them to drive you to the place you want anytime. It is never a problem for location and help saving travel time and cost!! The room is wonderful, it is very large and you can get everyting you need at room. There are private onsen in all rooms. The best thing for this hotel is the food!!! All things are delisous. As there are 4 rooms only in hotel, you can enjoy your meal quietly and slowly in restaurant, never bother by others. I am so surprised that I pay little for this outstanding service, room and food quality. Everyone should check this out:)

Except that it is a bit out of the way, everything else is great. The owner and his family provide great service, the hot spring is good, the room is nice, and the food is good. We arrived late, and there was nowhere to go around.

Exceeded expectations, very satisfied. I was traveling alone, and I contacted the boss in advance to drive to the nearby station to pick me up. In the end, she also helped to send me to the station. The boss speaks English, so there is no problem with basic communication. The service is very enthusiastic, especially the dinner and breakfast included, which is simply Michelin-level. It is cooked according to the meal time you choose, one by one, and it is very classic Japanese cuisine. Because there are so many types, you can really eat it. The taste is very good and the appearance is also high. The boss upgraded the private soup, which is very comfortable. The room is equipped with various air conditioners and floor heating. It is specially equipped with yukata, even traditional socks suitable for clogs~ The homestay is on the mountain. I personally like to climb mountains. I walked a few kilometers along the winding mountain road and could enjoy the original Japanese alpine scenery with many small waterfalls. There are no other food and entertainment around, and it is relatively quiet.

A super nice hot spring hotel, with a super patient and friendly boss family. Although the room is antique, it is also fully equipped with modern facilities. The breakfast and dinner are so rich that I am fed well every day. The quantity is large and the taste is also super good. I can soak in the hot springs in my spare time. It is so happy. I will be delivered to wherever I want to go and back on time (basically only to the bus station and the train station, but it is very convenient to go to the city). I would like to stay for a few days next time if I have the chance.

Pure private hot springs, cold winter days, unlimited outdoor hot springs, really cool. The ingredients are not top-notch, but the sincerity is overflowing. If you spread out breakfast and dinner, the whole table can't fit. At this price, it is worth a try

The boss is very kind to help us move our luggage to the second floor, and all the dishes are made by him. After breakfast the next morning, he packed a large bread with his own jam and brought it to us on the road. It is really touching to feel such food, service, accommodation, and human warmth in Japan! It is recommended that you spend 1-2 nights in Kyoto to experience it. Be careful to eat less when you go, because you will really eat too much!

A very comfortable hot spring hotel, located in the mountains, clean and tidy, the food is also great, it is highly recommended, the main point is that the boss and his family are really very, very good, because we had some problems at the time and lost our passport, the boss has been very enthusiastic to help call the taxi company and the police to help find it, the next day he sent us to the police station to report the case and later sent us to the subway station. I was really touched by the help of the boss and his family, and I am also very sorry that my carelessness has caused trouble to others. Fortunately, with everyone's help, the passport was found the next morning. I am really lucky. If I have the opportunity to go to Kyoto again in the future, I will choose this place again!

The boss is very kind and the service is very good. He even picks up and drop off at the MRT station. Our reservation includes dinner and breakfast. The food is delicious, tasty and well-attended. Be sure to save some room for it.
