Daiwa Roynet Hotel KYOTO-SHIJYOKARASUMA (Reopening on March 14, 2026)

This is a hotel in Kyoto that I really love. From Kyoto Station, you can take the Karasuma Line two stops to Shijo Station. If you have large luggage, you can exit from Exit 1 or 4. Exit 1 is on the same side as the hotel, and Exit 4 is diagonally across from the hotel. If you're coming from Kobe, you can take the Hankyu line directly for 410 yen; the Hankyu station is connected to the subway, which is very convenient. The hotel's location is excellent, not far from Shijo Kawaramachi, Daimaru, and Takashimaya; we always walked there. The decor is also great, simple and modern. The lobby offers complimentary skincare samples, as well as coffee and matcha lattes.

Facilities: Though small, it has everything one needs, and the space is sufficient for a single person. Cleanliness: Very clean and tidy. Environment: There are many places to eat, drink, and have fun nearby, and it's very close to the Shijo shopping district. Service: Excellent, excellent!

The room is quite spacious, with a dedicated area for makeup and dining. There's also ample space to hang clothes. A convenience store is right next door, and the drugstore across the street stays open until midnight, which is very convenient.

The location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a 1-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station, making it super convenient to get to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Gion, and Kyoto Station. There are tons of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so shopping is a breeze. The hotel has just been renovated, so everything feels new. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and thoughtful touches like a humidifier and air purifier were provided. The front desk staff were friendly and offered free luggage storage. Overall, it's great value for money. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Kyoto and would definitely stay here again next time.

Overall, it's newly renovated and offers a great experience. There's a laundry facility, and the breakfast is fantastic too.

This was one of my favorite hotels during my trip to Japan. Since it's newly renovated, everything looks very new and modern. The location is also great, very close to the main shopping street and just a 2-minute walk from the subway station. The room facilities are good too, and the front desk staff are friendly.
