My husband and I stayed in the honeymoon suite with a plunge pool for the first part of our honeymoon. The room was gorgeous and the views were excellent. We really enjoyed having the plunge pool over looking the volcano. While we were only able to see the volcano one of the days that we were there (due to the mist), it was still an excellent view. We ordered room service one night and ate it out on our patio. We saw lots of wild life from the room, which made the entire resort feel magical. The springs are gorgeous and we really enjoyed spending time there. There were different temperatures in different pools, so you could move around to find one that was the right temperature for you. We spent most of our time in the Shangri-la area, which is only available to hotel guests. They have private cabanas there that you can order food and drinks directly from. The food was delicious and fresh. The drinks were all beautiful and yummy. It did not bother us that the springs were down the road from the hotel. It was a quick 10 minute walk (with lots of beautiful plants along the way) or a 2 minute ride in the shuttle. The shuttle runs continuously, so you just walk up to the exit and a staff member will radio to the shuttle to let them know that there are guests waiting. We never waited more than 5 minutes for the shuttle to come. While staying at the resort, we did the ephemeral table experience, visited the spa, and took the complimentary yoga class. The private dining experience felt like it was right out of a movie. We had a private chef and dined in a cabana in the rainforest! The food was delicious and it was such a unique experience. The spa was gorgeous and our "honey temptation" treatment was so relaxing. I would highly recommend it. All of the staff were amazing, kind, and so willing to help. We speak some Spanish and when the staff realized that, they asked if we wanted to practice or if we would prefer to speak in English, which we really appreciated. Special shout out to Helen, who was our server multiple days in multiple different restaurants. I would highly recommend staying in Tabacon and it was really the perfect honeymoon location!
