Amazing property within the Arenal Volcano National Park. A myriad of trails available for walking / running and so many birds and animals within the park. Truly wonderful! Hotel rooms are available within the main building or separate rooms away from the hotel, which we chose, which was so peaceful and with views over the lake.

The lodge and trails were beautiful. So much to see. The staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a morning and evening walk with Christian #2 and saw so many things. He was wonderful. We can’t wait to come back.

Outstanding place to stay! Beautiful grounds, great accommodations and excellent staff! We saw so many wonderful birds thanks to their feeding station. We did their night walk tour and it was fascinating! I’d highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed if your looking for beautiful grounds, great service and bird watching.

What an incredible experience! Everything at the lodge is exceptional but what really makes it special is the staff. From Christian and all the staff at the restaurant, cleaners, drivers, the front desk, and the fantastic wildlife guide Christian, everyone was so kind. The hospitality was so wonderful, we really felt at home and did not want to leave. Baby William was happy to have so many new friends! If you are a birdwatcher this is a must visit. Just by visiting the fruit feeders and walking the trails ourselves we saw 89 bird species. In additional to the birds we had good luck to see many animals including: coati, agouti, spider monkeys, peccary, tayta, an anteater, eyelash viper, and red eyed tree frog! The food in the restaurant is also fantastic and the breakfast is a great mix with both a menu and buffet with fruit, bread, and drinks. The Casona had a wonderful view from the front porch and was exceptionally clean. You expect to see bugs with being in the rainforest but we were shocked to find none inside. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we will certainly be back!

We stayed at Lodge for three nights in March 2024 and found the grounds and Lodge to be impeccable. The views of the Arenal Volcano and lake from our rooms and deck were forever memorable. The restaurant food was very good and the entire staff is to be commended. None of the Hustle and Bustle of La Fortuna but close enough for different excursions. Would definitely recommend and look forward to our next stay at this beautiful property. The Smithsonian Rooms were the Cherry on top!!

We went for Spring Break with our family of 5, ages 14, 12, and 9. We were unaware how far away this place is from town and all the excusions we booked. We were always the first to be picked up for all the excusions. We also were required to book two rooms...thinking our travel agent booked them close together. nope...One room was about a mile away in a cabin with a shared bathroom. That was a little inconvenient. There was only one restaurant for dinner that we had to eat at every night, because to take a taxi into town would cost about $50 one way and not worth it was pretty good put pricey. It also got old over straight 4 nights. They told us we had to make reservations to eat there every night and gave us a number to call, but no phone was in the room. There was no way to call down to reception either. If you are going to do a lot of activities around La Fortuna I would not recommend this place because it is such a long drive into town. It is good for bird watchers or just people that like to relax, which would have been nice if I didn't have my children for spring break fun! There were some monkey right outside our room that we enjoyed watching one night. The pool was nice. The breakfast was good. The breakfast didn't open until 6:30 and our ride came at 6:45 and 6:40 two mornings.

The location of this property and the trails and overall maintenance and view of the Arenal Volcano. However the last 5-6 km from main road to this lodge needs to be paved. Its difficult to drive and specially in the night.

We entered the park and we greeted by young man who gave us directions and talked about the walks. We took the walks down to the waterfall and continue along the trail to the swinging bridge. The air is full of beautiful flowers and fragrant foliage. We walked up the tower to get a better view, but three quarters of the way up decide to turn around since the tower was swaying a bit in the wind. Weak of heart.🤣🤣🤣

It is exactly what it say it is. Great trails, great views, lots of animals and friendly people. Food wasn’t amazing but there were lots of options to choose from. Views from the balcony were breathtaking. Lots of birds to see and fun trails to wonder.
