Staff was really great and knowledgeable. The hotel was nice felt luxurious. Pool area was nice, breakfast options were great. Bed was comfy. The shower was outdoor which was cool but being open allowed bugs in.

Our stay at Tifakara was amazing. Every activity we did (aside from the very short walk to the waterfall) was booked through the hotel. We ate most of our meals at the hotel (and one at the small restaurant next door which was delicious) the pool is relaxing and beautiful. The room was perfect and clean. The staff was AMAZING. A special shout-out to our waiters Charlie and David! The best part of our experience was how helpful Randal was! He spoke to us for weeks leading up to our trip answering all of our questions and booking most of our activities in advance. While we were there he did everything in his power to make us have the best trip possible. He is truly amazing!! 10/10 hotel and 10/10 service!!

The night tour took place in the Frog Sanctuary/garden of the Tifakara hotel. If you do this tour, expect to mainly see frogs of many types. Our awesome guide Randall knew exactly where to find each species (including the glass frog and poisonous blue jean frog, so cool). The tour was 45 minutes (not an hour) but I felt that that was all we really needed. Afterwards they gave us a complimentary coconut/lime drink, and my boyfriend and I stayed for a delicious dinner. The prices were comparable to elevated U.S. dining prices. The incredible service, ambiance, love music, and delicious food was so worth it. Definitely recommend for an all around lovely evening.

We had the BEST time ever at Tifakara Lodge. Ericka was brilliant, texting in advance to ask about allergies and celebrations and a very warm and informative welcome. We were greeted at our room with balloons (it was both our birthdays!) , a complimentary bottle and personalised and beautifully illustrated cards. Josué gave a brilliant complimentary night time tour around the hotel garden and we saw five or six DIFFERENT types of frogs. It was incredible. Also a poisonous snake. Couldn't believe it. All so amazing and he gave us so much knowledge. We stayed the first night in the Basic Room because nothing else was available and the walls are very thin so I would recommend getting a lodge, very worth it particularly for the outdoor shower! Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We tried everything. Pain au chocolat - my favourites ever. The staff were friendly and attentive always. Good margaritas too- thank you Steven! Super relaxing hot tub, fire area and pool, cannot recommend this place enough. Wish we could have stayed longer than three nights but with only 9 nights in Costa Rica in total it’s all we could manage.

A special thank you to Randall for giving us a fantastic night walk tour of the frog sanctuary! He is very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area and I highly recommended taking this tour. Thankfully he is still around after having an up close and personal experience with the poisonous blue jean frog

The complimentary breakfast surpassed all expectations, offering a culinary delight that remained unmatched throughout our time in Costa Rica. Not only did they exceed our gastronomic desires, but they also provided an enriching experience with a complimentary night walk. Our guide was not only entertaining but also incredibly knowledgeable about the fascinating reptiles and amphibians we encountered. To top it off, they graciously organized a day trip for us, going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. We cannot sing their praises enough! We absolutely loved Tifakara. Set on the edge of the jungle, we were treated to wildlife at the footsteps of this luxury hotel. The setting was beautiful, the amenities were fantastic. And the staff were amazing. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed - especially Steven. His service was top notch, ensuring our needs were met, while keeping things fun and light. Highly recommend Tifakara to anyone looking for a quiet and unique stay in La Fortuna. We will be returning.
