La Fortuna Lodge by Treebu Hotels

Great hotel. The location was perfect. We could walk to restaurants and grocery stores. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a balcony that overlooked the volcano. The common areas were clean and very inviting. Breakfast was an added bonus!

Lovely people, food, and environment

I loved the design , beautiful, & clean. Lovely staff at front desk & breakfast, They booked a tour for me & other transportation. So nice. Loved the breakfast & choices. So convenient to walk into town, 10 min. Many places for shopping & eating. Beautiful park in the center of town. Gorgeous plants.

Staff was very welcoming and gracious. Property was well maintained and clean. There were good choices for breakfast. There was a nice view of the Arenal Volcano from our room. There were birds singing in the garden.

I loved the layout of the lodge. There were various areas with a variety of comfy furniture for you to read a book, gather with other travellers to hear their experiences in La Fortuna, reflect in the gardens or sit with a beverage and enjoy the view of the Arenal mountain. The staff were incredible! The lodge provided umbrellas which we needed to use everyday during our stay. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. The rooms were small but we had everything we possibly needed like nice beds, comfy couch, fridge, coffee maker, TV options and great wifi. I would highly recommend this place!

La Fortuna is an optimal name because we were fortunate enough to find such a high quality place to stay during our trip. For the price we paid, it was extremely nice. Additionally, they accommodated every request that was made. Even the really terrible request that we wanted a "upper floor room" -- I didn't think that one through at all. (There is no elevator so we had to haul our stuff all the way up.) MY BAD, SORRY FRIEND. The man at the front desk was super helpful and immediately made sure we had wifi which is obviously the most important thing. The room was clean and the shower was huge. Everything seemed brand new. It had a cool hostel vibe but it was kind of a mix between hostel and hotel. (In a good way.) We were able to have a complimentary breakfast and there were no surprises at checkout. They do have enough parking on the side of the building. For what we paid, I felt it was an excellent deal. Some of the tours didn't offer pickup at this location and at one point a bus got lost trying to find it. We were only there for the weekend and had no trouble finding it ourselves, so I think it's just new. Overall I would recommend, great value!

Really cute little hotel. Well maintained and clean. Breakfast included was a plus. Easy to walk the town from the location yet tucked away for a peaceful stay. When we arrived we were escorted to a room with no window…except for the small ventilation window in the bathroom. I asked for a different room which was unavailable. I asked if other rooms had no windows. She said no just this one. I was not a happy customer. It felt unsafe to only have one way to leave a room in case of emergency. I inquired about getting my money back so I could move to a different hotel. No answer back. We stayed 4 nights. We were offered a room on the second night that had a window that didn’t open and overlooked a wall. We declined. On the last night we were offered another room which we took. The large window overlooked a hallway. I’m not sure which room or rooms they use for advertisement, but the view was not what I was expecting. Nice hotel….but inquire about the rooms and windows.
