We didn’t stay in the inn but had dinner in Stinson, the restaurant in the hotel. First class Italian with local feel of LaVeta. 6 tables so make reservations. Good selection of wines and cocktails. Italian beer on request. You know quality is high when the owner of Aly’s restaurant is enjoying dinner there !

The hotel looked lovely and quaint on the website. We stayed one night in the great little town of La Veta, but were extremely disappointed with our stay at the La Veta Inn. The courtyard room we were given was next to the courtyard, but there was a high wall between the room and the courtyard, so it felt like we were staying in an alley. The room itself was quite dirty - the comforter was stained, there was literal trash between the bed and the nightstand, and the bathroom smelled strongly of mold. The room was cooled by a freestanding air conditioner with an 8" wide tube attached, that made so much noise we could not sleep with it on. Since the windows to the room opened onto the sidewalk, we could not leave them open, so the room was extremely stuffy.

We stayed two nights in the older section. Our room was extremely quiet...even though the Inn was full. The bed was super comfortable too...we will definitely be back. They have worked hard to update this building and it shows. Highly recommend them!

It was ok. Nothing special. Some of the rooms were nice and spacious with mural paintings in the rooms and large bathrooms, other rooms were much smaller and plainer. Just note that the entire town closes down at 8pm so if you want anything after 8pm you have to drive 20 min to the next town over.

Friendly front desk. That’s were the compliments stopped. No soap in the room. Disappointing breakfast (you have to ask for frozen waffles??). NO WATER in the shower. Air conditioner went on and off all night, so we went from freezing to sweating instead of a constant temperature. Wouldn’t recommend.

We arrived late and Reggie made sure was ready for us. The hotel had a lot of charm. My daughters played chess in the common room. The courtyard was lovely, and I expect it to be even nicer in the summer!

We spent one night in February on our way from Golden to Albuquerque. I had been in La Veta before but not since the current La Veta Inn has been in business. We had a good stay but the establishment had the distinct feeling of being worked on. The room we had was very nice and comfortable but many of the common areas were not open/available and the microwave oven was available in an area that was roped off for remodeling. The owner was not in when we arrived but our key was made available on the check-in counter. We met the young owner later; he gave us a nice tour and impressed us as very enthusiastic about the property and was working hard to finish the improvements. The tea/coffee station mentioned by someone else is, indeed, quite nice. So, the good rating was a compromise for an unfinished establishment that had a very nice room and promise of a very good place to stay.

We can’t wait to go back. What a great property! Just off Main Street and around the corner from the grocery/convenience store that happens to also serve fantastic ice cream. The Fort Museum and some wonderful shops are just steps away also. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Made us feel like locals! The room was exactly what we needed. Having the separate kitchenette area was a huge bonus. Extremely clean and cared for. Next time we will bring the whole family!

We stayed for 1 night in a courtyard 2 bed room at La Veta Inn. A lovely chap, who I think was the owner checked us in and gave us the lowdown. If your looking for 1st class accommodation and fancy fittings this is not the place, however if your looking for a good old inn with character then stay here. A good choice in a small town.
