Carriage House Hotel

The hotel itself was beautiful and initially seemed very promising. We even considered staying longer and enjoy the amenities, massage and dinner. Unfortunately, our experience changed dramatically around midnight. Instead of a normal knock, there was aggressive pounding on our door. The pounding continued without stopping, and because we had no idea who was outside, we were genuinely afraid to open the door. My instinct was not to answer because it felt threatening, but my best friend eventually opened the door because the pounding would not stop. When the door was opened, we found a man wearing a security uniform accompanied by a woman in plain clothes. Before giving us an opportunity to explain anything, they accused us of causing a violent disturbance and claimed there were multiple people in our room. Those accusations were completely false. I had just gotten out of the shower and still had wet hair. When I explained that I had not answered the door immediately because I was in the shower and never heard an initial knock, the accusations continued even after they could clearly see there was no disturbance and no additional people in the room. What concerns me most is the hotel’s apparent protocol. At no point did anyone call our room before sending security to pound on the door. A simple phone call asking whether everything was okay could have clarified the situation immediately and prevented an unnecessarily frightening encounter. The way this was handled felt intimidating rather than professional. Waking guests with repeated pounding on the door in the middle of the night, without first attempting to contact them by phone, creates a potentially dangerous situation. If someone believes an intruder is at their door, they may be understandably reluctant to open it, or the encounter could escalate unnecessarily. The property itself is beautiful, but this experience left us feeling shaken and unsafe. I hope the hotel reviews its procedures and considers using less confrontational methods, such as calling the room first, whenever circumstances allow. That approach would better protect both guests and hotel staff while still addressing any legitimate concerns. Sadly, because of how this situation was handled and management’s unwillingness to address it appropriately, we will not be returning.

No where near worth the $216 per night rate. The room was average at best with paint taped back in spots on the wall. You could hear EVERYTHING from the hallway and other doors slamming closed. It was very difficult to find the front desk. Wouldn’t go back

Very comfortable with everything thought of that you need for great business travel

The room was really clean and beautiful. The parking was plentiful and you can park right on the level of your room for easier access. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My particular housekeeper was subpar but My complaints were responded too immediately. Overall I would definitely stay again.

Best Hotel I have stayed in. Clean and just a few maintenance in room (paint, scuff marks). Bed spectacular as was the front desk receptionist who always seemed to be working. Beautiful grounds and once you figured it out, not a problem getting aound. Great, and I meat great, health club, Room 313 Labor Day weekend Matthews Wedding party

Good Stay, A Bit Complicated Check-in A nice, clean hotel in a good area. Feels more like an Aparthotel than a regular hotel. Finding reception is a bit complicated and you have to enter the rooms through the parking garage, which was a bit strange. The rooms were spacious and suite-like with a small kitchen and large bathroom. The blinds in the bedroom were shutters, so there was no way to keep the nighttime lights or sunshine in the morning out unfortunately. I would stay here again since it’s a walkable and quiet area and the staff was very nice.

Broken doorbell, badly stained carpets, thermostat didn’t work. Cabinets coming unlamanated, bedding torn and full of holes. Icemaker didn’t work, blinds broken and missing, master tv didn’t work, 2nd bedroom tv very pixelated. Called concierge twice got voice mail promising a call back that never came. There is no way the room we had was a 4 diamond property room!! Very overpriced!!!!

Beautiful hotel Wonderful help at the front desk. Our room was beautiful! Updated and very comfortable We will definitely be staying here again.
