Only stayed one night in April 2024 in room 03. We hadn't intended to stay here, it was due to the poor lock of transport further up the coast, that we were forced to get overnight accommodation closed to the La Rochelle Airport for our early morning flight back to Dublin. The lady (assuming it was the manager) on the desk wasn't the friendliest despite us being paying guests at over €80+ for a room only. We expected to find a lobby at this hotel to sit in, as we were about an hour early for check in, but like the Spanish couple in front of us, didn't find any such area at the reception desk and was 'sharply' told us off for entering the hotel before the allocated booking in time and was told it basically wasn't company policy to book people in early, but she would do it this once. Room was fine and spacious, I had asked for a menu at reception when booking in, but they told me they didn't have any available, so I walked down to the dinning room, which wasn't anything special, menu was of course in French, so no idea what the food actually was and no good for my 8 year old son. I ended up googling the nearest McDonalds, which was about a 30/45 mins walk away along the main road, which suited my son better. The accommodation really needs a professional cleaners, as you can see from the photos, the back garden is a decent size space that really needs a professional landscape design completed on it. The front of the hotel looks lovely, but is next door to apar**ents (flats) and a car park and bin (rubbish) area. Sad, as one could imagine a really nice setting when it was first built. We wouldn't stay again however.
